There’s a lot of down time in Taboo.
Or, for an alternate explanation, we are a bunch of geeks.

Memo to self: no more free-association games with Dopers.
Pat the Bunny! PAT the Bunny, dammit!
I’m getting a little nervous at my first DopeFest. They won’t tell me what the goat and candles are for, but they say I’ll find out at midnight.
I maintain that “lightly stroke the bunny” is an appropriate hint for “BLANK the Bunny.”
Res and Wisest Novel are fine, fine additions to the stable of Hot Doper Men.
Michigan is such a fine place to live, because it puts us in driving distance of some of the best Dopers around. I am reminded of that after every Dopefest. I have some of the coolest people in my living room right now.
Granted, as a group they seem to know a little bit too much about the Sims, Carrie Ann Moss movie roles, and Star Wars trivia,–it scares me a little–but thassokay.
I am pleased to be added to the ranks of fine Doper men. And let me add that my feeble notions of beauty were shattered tonight when I met my first batch of Doper women. THAT is true beauty, in form and in spirit.
…I’m such a kiss-ass.
Sure, you wait until after I leave to say that.
Thanks for hosting, Cranky–and for being a kick ass Taboo teamate.
You can all get naked now.
Hey, our thread’s dying off…
Just to assure you all, it’s midnight and we’re still going strong. Take THAT, Chi-Dope!
Well, it’s 12:30 and the last of the Dopers have departed. They’d have been welcome to stay another 4 hours, but some of them had pretty substantial drives. I had to bid them a sad farewell.
As far as Dopefests go, I am sure this ranks as one of the “quieter” ones . . . but you know, it was nice to just laugh with people and talk get to know them a little better.
Thanks, all, for coming! You’re welcome back any ol’ time!!!
It was very nice seeing you folks (and meeting the new ones). Even if you are all obsessed with patting your bunnies.
Thanks again for having us, Cranky. You are, as always, a pleasure to be around and a terrific hostess. No, not a Hostess like the snack food… Mmmm… chocolate preservative-filled cupcakes… sinful pleasures… snuggling up to Juniper…
pauses, wipes drool from keyboard
Where was I?
Oh yes… someday I’ll have to have all you guys over here and we can cram into my living room. There’s not much to do in Auburn, but there is great potential for the embarassment of karoke on Saturday nights at one of the local bars. And I need to get you to play Beyond Balderdash because I know it would be a riot. How does sometime in May or June sound to you guys?
By the way… Persephone bought me a car! Cool, huh? It’s bright yellow (which really is the best color for a fast car IMHO) and handles like no vehicle I’ve ever driven. Stops on a dime and leaves nine cents change… sticks to any surface like you wouldn’t believe!
Isn’t she great? No wonder she couldn’t afford to pay her phone bill. Anyway, I promise you can take a ride in it any time you want, Cristi.
I LOVE Beyond Balderdash. I’d be happy to come up to Auburn. I’ve never done Karaoke but I can’t think of any group of people I’d rather lose my virginity with, so to speak. Heh heh
Glad you like the car, Steve! But you know I had to buy it for you. I mean, you brought me a piece of Stonehenge. I had to return the favor somehow.
I’m just posting to second Persephone’s opinion of Wisest Novel and Res Ipsa Loquitor. Smart, funny, and damned handsome, both of them. Oh, mrblue92 too. Nothing like spending the evening in the company of three handsome men.
I just wanted to thank everybody present last night for making me feel welcome at my first Fest. I’ll probably have nightmares about that little midnight ‘ceremony’ for a little while, but I’ll get over it. You’re all excellent people, and I enjoyed some of the most intelligent conversations I’ve had in a while. If any of you find yourselves over my way, y’all are welcome at Casa Mejor.
Come to think of it, I also enjoyed some of the most inane and puerile conversations I’ve had in a while!
Res Ipsa Loquitor is latin for “duh.”
I spent last night watching my best friend line-dance at an atrocious Country/Western dance club out in the boonies of Western Michigan while my boyfriend and I looked on in horror.
Glad to hear you all had a kickass time! Yeehaw! (aaauuugghhhh!)
and I, of course, spent the time schlepping son from point A to point B with his kind of directions (um I think it’s at Akers Hall. “East or West” There’s an East and West??? ) , not to mention seeing a wide variety of LEO’s - Michigan State University, Meridian Township, Cities of Lansing ** and ** East Lansing, Bath Township and a State cop on the highway.
Glad y’all had fun. keep me posted for the next one.
“Hello Again” is esperanto for “foxy lady.”
