Rhythmically - what goes with NERD's 'She Wants To Move'?

My band are going to cover this song as it has such a great groove; but as a song it doesn’t really go anywhere. So as we often do in such cases we thought we’d segue into another belter that also goes ‘dun, dun, dun-dun, duh-duh’.
Except I’ve drawn a blank.
So dopers - without wanting open a debate about whether it goes ‘bum, bum bu-bum bu-bum’ or whatever, any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation

Anyone? A song that could be spliced with ‘She Wants to Move’?

(My one and only thread bump - I’ll let it die after this)

It’s not the same beat but it’s a similar feel maybe…Sublime’s version of “Scarlet Begonias”.

Your drummer will have to concentrate pretty hard to switch it up but the beat on “Scarlet Begonias” is a standard funk beat.

Just seems like any funky drum song can transition into this one.

After a few minutes of humming, my best idea was “Down on the Corner” by CCR.

I love the

line

A few points:

  • The beat has both a Latin feel and a Bo Diddley beat feel. You could go with anything from a Shakira-type Latin-pop number (sorry don’t know the names) or Buddy Holly’s Not Fade Away (Rolling Stone’s version) or Tom Petty’s American Girl.

  • The basic Latin lick I hear played by a nylon-string guitar is a standard I IV V lick so you could go anywhere you want with that…

In terms of entertainment - well, if you are looking to get folks dancing and keep it going from there - I’d find another dance tune with a different, cool rhythm and make a transition - just manage the change - make it a break and then re-launch if you need to, to keep it tight. Could be anything from something new toYou Spin Me Right Round by Dead or Alive- transitioning to that would be cool, IMHO…

Sort of weird, but what immediately comes to my mind is “Psychedelic Shack”.

It’d be an odd juxtaposition, but you can easily seque into White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” from that.

If we’re going to talk about Not Fade Away, then I should also mention George Michael - Faith.

Given that Scarlet Begonias and NFA have been mentioned, I’d like to throw in a nod to Eyes of the World. Without lightening up on complexity, it’s a good laconic fit–add an edge and pick it up a few notches and you’ve got a sick She Want’s to Move>Eyes>Scarlet Begonias>NFA>SWTM jam.
