Rick and Morty -- the new animated show from Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland

Nice, but I’m concerned that “I’m pickle Riiiick!” will become the “The cake is a lie” of the late twenty-teens.

Never even heard of that before!: The Cake Is a Lie | Know Your Meme

My personal trick is to combine my reputation for being Mr Sophisticated with Rick & Morty quotes to throw people pleasantly off guard.

“Gentlemen, now the business portion of this meeting has concluded I do believe it is time to get riggity-riggity-wrecked at the pub!”

Nothing fires up the boys in Marketing like chanting “Lick lick lick ma balls!”

I just wanted to add that my daughter performs the appropriate dance steps and the stylized fist shaking while cheerfully singing “let me out; let me out; this is not a dance; I’m beggin’ for help, I’m screamin’ for help; please come let me out.”

She then always pairs the right gestures with “I’m dyin’ in a vat in the garaaage.”

Rick and Jerry episoooooooooode!

This was a fun episode, and it was good to see Jerry get some character development and actually take a stand for himself, even if he did spend most of the episode as the butt monkey. Loved the “cosmic apotheosis” sequence, and I would so ride the Whirly Dirly.

The subplot with Summer felt a little tacked on, but it worked. Rick is gonna be pissed when he finds out the host of Anatomy Park II got Cronenberged, though.

He wasn’t Cronenberged; he was Clive Barkered

Eh. Flerp of one, half a floozle of the other.

I thought he shut down AP II when the investors cancelled Pirates of the Pancreas.

“She was Rick’s daughter. She had opportunities, before you injected her with 20ccs of despair.”

Ouch. That line stuck with me. That’s really really harsh. Also, yeah, the cosmic apotheosis might just be my favorite trip-out scene ever. It’s easily up there with the one from Bojack Horseman.

After the little kid was shot in the head I was expecting a montage of guests dying for real.

Beth building that sculpture out of horse hooves & legs was possibly the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen on this show. And I know that’s saying a lot.

Agreed.

Probably just me but I found that this last Jerry episode was the most underwhelming/boring of the season so far.

Well it was a Jerry episode

Look, it’s perfectly legal, OK?

Yes, but that assistant manager was played by Clancy Freakin’ Brown, the GOD of Voice Actors.

I know, right? Although the Jerry at Daycare episode wasn’t bad. Neither was the off-world marriage counselling one.

It’s just, someone upthread mentioned that Justin Roiland thinks the superheroes episode is the weakest of the season.

JUSTIN ROILAND TELLS LIES.

You can go ahead and remove “Voice” from that sentence. Kurgan, Sergeant Zim, Capt. Hadley, he’s great in every role he plays.

You forgot Mr. Crabs.
