I liked this debut episode a lot more than the previous season’s one.
It’s not the first time this show has gone to the ‘let’s show a rapidly-evolving society of aliens who’ve been affected by Rick and/or Morty’ well. But this time they added the element of ‘the cause of the evolution is a casual exploitative action Rick and Morty don’t see as being meaningful’—and for me that made it work. Add Mr. Nimbus and his out-of-control preening and I was highly amused.

I was just thinking back to comparing this one with last season and I realised I couldn’t remember any of last season except one about meta references to story telling trains.
Just reading recaps. I remember enjoying the heist episode, and there’s the clone Beths too. Oh and a pervy dragon.
Still, it’s back without the customary 30 month wait, so that’s good, at least.

Heist was their best one, but the premiere with the death-crystals that let you see how you might die was also great. So was the Vat of Acid episode.

It was. My favourite bit is the way Jerry is the only person who pronounces Akira “properly”.
