Rick and Morty -- the new animated show from Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland

I did watch this, forgot about the voices, but did ask myself at the end: “wasn’t this funny once?”

Pretty amusing take on the whole body-swap trope in this episode.

“Your dad’s a gay assassin? So cool and ordinary.”

Both episodes so far this season have had a lot less Morty speaking than Rick. I’m wondering if that is meaningful somehow, in relation to the voice work.

The episodes were written and animated in 2021, AIUI, long before Roiland got canned, so any relation there is likely coincidental.

I like this second episode a lot more than the first one. I love Morty getting captured and bad-guys being afraid of him because of everything they know about Rick and Morty.

Jerricky was great.

Morty sounds terrific, honestly even better than Rick. I forget about voice changes most of the time, though. It’s been very smooth.

Great episode this week. I actually felt sad for Unity at the end.

I thought it was fine, but not as good as last week’s episode. I do think I actually noticed Morty sounded different in this episode, not having noticed in the previous two episodes.

Rick is so good, I would have never known if I had not known. The guy they have doing Rick is excellent.

The show seems unaffected by the voice changes since voicing is all Roiland was doing by the end, I think.

Welp, now I’m craving spaghetti.

“Have we thought about just giving up and joining the fascist half of the country? I’m just saying, they get to do more!”

I missed this but I read it on reddit.

The guy whose funeral Rick and Morty attended mid episode was the guy whose wife left him for the final suicide guy. He presumably killed himself over the divorce.

Well. Um. That was certainly an episode.

I’m not a mega-fan and I’ve seen most episodes only once when they aired, but I’ll say:

I think that was one of the best episodes in years, if not of the entire run. I was kind of stunned. There is still life in this show yet, so to speak!

The tag with vacuum cleaner Rick was definitely one of the best tags I can remember.

My biggest laugh was “this room contains a being that has been in extreme pain its entire life” and then he reveals nothing is in there because he knew Morty would be so upset.

You don’t really wanna know how the sausage is made. Literally.

Diane: “YOU SUCKED AT EATING PUSSY!”
Rick: “Clearly just said to be hurtful, but I also won’t deny it. I was young.”

Possibly the hardest I’ve ever laughed at anything on this show.

I thought they’d save a confrontation like this for the season finale, but I’m OK with finally getting some closure on this arc. Nice use of “Look On Down From The Bridge” at the end, which was previously used back in season 1 when Rick and Morty had to bury themselves after Earth Prime got Cronenberged. Of course Rick wouldn’t be happy, even though he’s completed his life’s goal, because in the end Rick was never going to let himself be happy.

The tag, with Uncle Slow’s wife becoming sort of an anti-Rick who lives a happy life with their family because they rejected the call to adventure, was great.

Ah, the faux-clip-show episode.

Best one I’ve seen since Clerks did it 20+ years ago.

It’s kind of a Rick and Morty tradition every other season or so. I liked this one.

I think this episode and the spaghetti episode were top notch Rick and Morty.

Not when Community did it 12 years ago?

Did the Simpsons do a fake clip show yet?
