Riddle Me This

I drove through Kentucky the other day and saw a sign on a billboard that was all white with big black letters and read:

x 6 =

That’s it. The “x” is a multiplication symbol. I haven’t the slightest idea what this means. There was no small lettering in the corner of the billboard either. I thought maybe they weren’t done with it, but it looked quite finished, and on top of that, why would someone paint a billboard and start in the middle? I don’t get it. Someone help me out.

Probably an advertising scheme. I remember a few years ago, in Milwaukee, a local radio station (of “you can’t win”/May 33rd fame) put up a bunch of billboards with apparently random images on them. The ones I remember were: a bunch of minivans falling from the sky during inclement weather, some cantaloupes sitting ‘round the campfire, and that barber from the Andy Griffith show laughing his ass off. Gradually, people began realizing that they were sort of rebus puzzles, representing band names - Van Halen (hailin’), Mellencamp (melon camp), and Pink Floyd (kind of a stretch, I thought), respectively. I imagine it will be revealed within a few weeks. Perhaps it deals with an upcoming movie or something, or maybe it has to do with a company that’s getting set to open, something like that.
