I’ll believe you, Lee, even if others here seem to have some difficulty in accepting your story at face value.
It seems to me that they are possibly forgetting that when you are poor, young, female, live in a “bad” area etc, it’s very easy to become disenfranchised by those people who should be looking after your rights. Those very criteria act against you when it comes to standing up for your rights by registering complaints.
Complaining to authorities about the actions of one of their own officers is much easier when you have social status on your side. When you don’t, you just get brushed off and discredited.
