Yes, the right-wing media didn’t kill this guy. But for months, millions of my and my leftist pals (ACORNs) were terrified that wingnuts were “goin’ rogue” and mowing down liberals. All the right-wing media, a media of peace, had to do was renounce this violent acts. But they never did. And I think we should hold them accountable for that and the fear they acquiesced in inspiring.
Whereas those who jumped to an incorrect conclusion get a friendly pat on the back?
Just… ya know… for future reference.
I, Circle ofWillis, not a liberal, not a cvonservative, not left-wing, not right wing, do hereby denounce all past, present and future acts of senseless violence and murder whther made in the name of a specific political or apolitical stance or not.
For all future acts that may be blamed on whatever political or apolitical issue I stand for, please refer to this general denouncement so that whatever opposition to said political or apolitical stance does not fear me going “rogue”. I promise.
… except for SUV drivers and telemarketers, you should be afraid, Apparently it’s a law on the Dope.
There, feel all warm, cozy, and fuzzy inside now?
Clearly the right-wing media drove this guy to suicide.
What?
Well, it’s a perfect illustration of why we need death panels.
Maybe you all should grow a pair and stop cowering behind imaginary fears.
snerk
Have you looked at the Republican party the last 9 years?
Honestly, I’m quite conservative, but I can’t let this crap fly.
I just love how no one came out and said that right wingers wouldn’t do that until it was proven that they didn’t. Even people on the Right don’t trust the wackjobs.
I mean, nobody dared say “They may have considered themselves rightwingers, but our party would not support it.” You have crazies in your upper echelon. You can’t say for sure that these people would not advocate death. Heck, it didn’t even occur to you to do so.
So, no, I don’t think anyone owes you an appology. The actions that were proposed were fear mongering, which is not outside your party’s MO. You owe us an apology for having crazy people in the highest positions of your party. You want people in your* party? Stop using fear to motivate people.
*How can I, someone with an anxiety disorder, consider myself part of an organization that uses fear to motivate?
Who trusts whackjobs? They can do anything. No one should go out and immediately declare any crazies innocent of certain misdeeds because they have similar ideologies.
Right, because it’s assumed that it’s not an actual part of their platform to kill census workers. Wouldn’t it be even more dangerous and crazy if they did have to say that? Then it looks like their ideology is so dangerous that killing random census workers is nearly part of it, but not quite.
I agree with this part. Even if right wing media wasn’t related to this particular instance, they are indeed fueling people with ignorant rage and implicitly calling them to action. They could’ve very easily inspired or emboldened something like this. Certainly no one who supports Glen Beck or “kill him!” at Palin rallies type stuff deserves any apology.
Or better still, arm yourselves.
Of course they would; they’ve killed other people, and make death threats and threats of violence fairly often. The tile of this thread is perfectly correct; a murder like this was alleged to be IS the “logical end” of right wing rhetoric.
Because they would support it. They wouldn’t admit it public, but they’d support it. Prominent right wingers been making noises about killing people who work for the government a long time. The right wing is dominated by thugs and fanatics.
Do you support the humane treatment of animals?
That about right?
I wonder if any left-wing policies or rhetoric could be tied to violence perpetrated by the downtrodden upon a member of the trodding class?
Well, if you can’t think of any, then you’re left to wonder.
