Yes, the same thing was done for my Mom. The Memorial Mass “Memorial Mass with No Body or Ashes Present” was said the week she died, and then the Mass of Christian Burial (with body present) was said two weeks after her death, with the burial following.
We’re probably saying the same thing.

Like everyone, I’m extremely shocked at the sudden death. I didn’t know Autolycus well, but he was the only Doper here with whom I exchanged emails with, since we both got into the JET programme at the same time. Turns out we were both stationed in the north - should have taken the opportunity to visit him when I passed through Aomori.
Damn.

I decided to wander back after 6 months and saw a thread about chique in my subscribed threads which I thought was odd because I was sure it was a couple years old. Then I saw one of the recent comments was about Autolycus also being deceased and I was shocked. I had to search out this thread. Sorry for bumping it after two months.
I remember when he showed up here and he was a bit … exuberant but also funny. Then he settled in and he was still funny but also proved to be a thoughtful and intelligent poster. He will be missed.
Still think about him quite a bit – miss that loon…

Got the notification on my fb wall…He’s just a little bit over two years older than me, I realized. Hard to believe it’s been over three months already. I really hope his parents and girlfriend are doing okay.

Just watched the services. The letter from Ted is very touching and well written. I think there’s some dust in my room. If anyone is interested, it’s from around the 20 minute mark or so in the videostream. Not sure who the fellow is who was talking, it seems to have been missed in the audio.
