The show’s treatment of women was always ridiculous. It never had a single believable female character.
Before the final credits I had one last, desperate hope that both planes would crash and they’d all go to douchebag heaven.
Vince’s lesbian publicist?
Ari’s daughter?
I think those two come closest.
I’m not sure what you mean by believable, living in Los Angeles for 13 years I can tell you that there are plenty of believable female characters.
Wow. They’re called “characters” there?
I agree with this… but then I thought about it, and really the defining quality of this show is that everything is going to work out in the end. Family Guy made fun of them for that, and IIRC even E said something to that effect earlier this season. So why belabor anything? It’s just going to work out. Sloan and her dad? That’ll be fine. Vince marrying a girl after one date? No worries there! I’m sure Turtle’s restaurant will go like gangbusters and Johnny’s Bananas will be a hit, as will his made-for-TV movie – even though neither got even a whiff of a mention in this frenzied episode. No need for details, I guess. I found it a little offputting at first, but hey, this show is what it is.
Put me down in the Ari goes back to work camp, though. Guys like that don’t just quit for their families. Hell, in the real world, whenever some high-powered person quits “to spend more time with his family,” we know it’s a bullshit code because that just doesn’t happen. Besides, daughter’s off to college soon, Melissa can obviously be wooed for at least a decade by a status upgrade, and son… well, who gives a shit? No way Ari passes up that opportunity. I see the NFL adding the LA Golds in five years.
What was the deal with Turtle anyway. Are we supposed to identify with him? I don’t see how else he could be interesting.
Also, I think the show was above mediocre in the early seasons before it became too repetitive, and below mediocre now with this lame-ass ending.
They should’ve made Andrew “Dice” Clay the washed-up guy who shot himself.
Sorry. I have a lot of ideas for improving the show, almost all of which involve the cast and guest stars dying in horrible ways.
You say that as if it is a bad thing.
