Alright. First, I apologize for asking a dumb question. I apologize even more if this is a sensitive topic. However, I did a search and I can’t find anything!!

I’m the half-newbie that was here a long time ago and can’t recall her username. So I certainly don’t expect anyone to remember me. But I remember a lot of you. And I remember wallym7. I was caught off-guard while following some links around, to find out that he has passed on. This is very sad to me.

So, my question is when did this happen?

It was back in June. I recommend doing a search for threads with “Wally” in the title (be sure to select “any date”). There are a lot of them related to his passing, and some are quite moving.

Wallym7 died on June 20 after sustaining serious (ftal) injuries to, among other things, his head.

Do a search for "Wallym7 has passed away and look at the date on that thread. You’ll find another one by ChiefScott on the same day. Read 'em both. Then you’ll have some semblance of the man.

It’s amazing how many people were touched by his passing. I didn’t even talk to him and I miss him. He was serious and funny in the same sentence.

Because I asked a general question.

I wasn’t sure where else to put it. It certainly didn’t belong in GD or BBQ. It’s not an opinion piece or quesiton about opinions. I certainly didn’t think it was Mundane enough for MPSIMS.

I apologize if I somehow misplaced my OP. Feel free to inform me of a better place where I should have placed this particular thread.

Well, I am certainly not authorized to speak on behalf of the great gods of SDMB administration, but I think questions about specific posters should be voiced in MPSIMS. I could be wrong. I was almost wrong once before.

Tymp, not an administrator here, so it’s just my opinion. The OP asked a question with a definite answer. Thus it is a general question.

MPSIMS would have been appropriate also. The title of the forum is somewhat misleading, as there are many threads there that are not mundane and pointless, but don’t fit other categories. MPSIMS is also miscellaneous. Like you said, questions about specific posters often go in MPSIMS, though sometimes the Pit.

It would have also fit under About This Message Board, if phrased as finding the threads.

Yeah, it probably belonged in MPSIMS or ATMB.

But we didn’t have the heart to move it.
