I imagine there must have been a crisis at the RNC when the delegates realized there was one remaining voting bloc the party hadn’t managed to alienate yet.
According to a Republican National Committee member Pat Rogers, a Governor of the State of New Mexico should not attend an annual New Mexico state tribal leader summit - a meeting which she is required by law to attend.
The reason she should not attend, according to the Republican, is that by attending the summit (which she is legally required to attend), she would be showing disrespect to a General who lived over 130 years ago, a General who was killed in 1876 by Lakota and Northern Cheyenne Indians in what is now the state of Montana.
This was a General whose field strategy field strategy was to use noncombatants at the encampments at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. He intended to capture women, children, the elderly or disabled to serve as hostages and human shields
The Republicans can’t find a Democratic equivalent. They can’t find an equivalent to the Akins idiocy and they can’t find an equivalent to the Lubbock, TX retardation.
I just hope more throwbacks keep exposing their let’s-go-back-to-the-good-ole-days philosophy. Maybe it will enervate the cynical and the apathetic to actually vote this November.
For what it is worth, I have misused that word in the same manner as you did.
On topic, this seems rather hard to justify from any sane and rational perspective.
Perhaps some denizen from the parallel dimension wherein lie the enormous minds behind the current GOP can appear here and explain how this makes any sense whatsoever.
OK, I’m going to have to pray this was a really egregious case of “words in an e-mail can’t convey that you’re winking and laughing as you say it”. Because otherwise WTF? The Governor’s a REPUBLICAN – and a woman and a Latina. So you got those segments besides the Native Americans getting hit. Way to *&^%$# go, Rogers! Keep adding votes!
