I think Sage Rat already knows this but, for those who don’t, the Chamber of Commerce is not a government organization. They also tend to be pretty right-wing although I can’t speak for the Fremont C of C.

Regarding the Lenin statue, around here, Fremont describes itself as the Center of the Universe - the CC seems to be a wee bit left of the normal chambers.

Fremont is also famous for its own Rocket force, a Troll (clutching a Volkswagen) under a bridge and an annual Solstice Parade which includes naked cyclists.

Well, I agree there’s more than a touch of bigotry in Rogers story… but I don’t agree that “garden variety” idiocy is in play when someone believes that an island (of any size) can tip over. That is championship idiocy.
