RNC Official Pat Rogers: N.M. Governor ‘Dishonored’ Gen. Custer By Meeting With American Indians.

Just wait until he realises that Romney disrespected George Washington by meeting the British.

But he pissed them off royally every time he opened his mouth. Very traditional, I should think.

Who was the American who told the British they should keep a picture of General Washington handy? In case of constipation, they could just look at the picture and totally shit. Of course, that’s when we were revolutionaries.

I think Sage Rat already knows this but, for those who don’t, the Chamber of Commerce is not a government organization. They also tend to be pretty right-wing although I can’t speak for the Fremont C of C.

Yeah, pretty conservative, just to the left of Calvin Coolidge.

Here’s a quote from the above article:

So, you know, 180 degrees smarter than the moron Republican official, Pat Rogers.

Also the wrong person. If they wanted to pick someone from that region, it should have been Kit Carson, who harassed, killed and rounded up them damn injuns all over the Southwest, but particularly the Navajo of NM. Also, he was married to both an Indian and to a Mexican woman. There’s so much for Republicans to choose from there, one doesn’t know where to start.

Regarding the Lenin statue, around here, Fremont describes itself as the Center of the Universe - the CC seems to be a wee bit left of the normal chambers.

Fremont is also famous for its own Rocket force, a Troll (clutching a Volkswagen) under a bridge and an annual Solstice Parade which includes naked cyclists.

The email was sent to her staff. Has he been known to send “jokes” like this before?

If that’s the case, he’s still an idiot, only more on the magnitude of Anthony Wiener. “I’ll just send this to all my staff. Surely none of them have been nursing a grudge against me and are as loyal as my dog.”

Well, Democratic Congressman Hank Johnson thought if we send too many troops to Guam, the island would become too heavy and tip over.

And before you accept his word that it was a joke…watch the video.

No, I know the story, and know it wasn’t a joke, and I know that he’s an idiot, but it’s garden variety idiocy, not the narrow minded bigotry that was displayed by Rogers.

Well, I agree there’s more than a touch of bigotry in Rogers story… but I don’t agree that “garden variety” idiocy is in play when someone believes that an island (of any size) can tip over. That is championship idiocy.

So now we’re going to quibble over the phrase “garden variety”?

My point is that I posted the OP mostly in response to Roger’s display of bigotry. Whether Johnson’s idiocy fits in a flower pot, or a garden, or requires a whole damned forest is beside the point.

Ok, fair enough. I was focused on the foolishness.

So let me understand the rules, now. Is it necessary to show bigotry against southwest Native Americans? Any Native Americans? Any racial bigotry at all? Any bigotry at all?

How about monumental idiocy that displays hatred? My social intuition, which is not great but I suspect is greater than yours, thinks that is the crux of what an equivalency tu quoque should possess here.

Point of order: let’s say that everyone in this thread were to agree that these two morons were exactly equivalent and thus cancel each other out. Does that mean that you wouldn’t bring up the Guam guy as long as we didn’t bring up the Custer guy? Is that how this works?

This is your first encounter with the Counselor?

I have no idea. Ask the OP:
