Road trip, 6 hours, you get 2 food items and 1 beverage

Beverage: Water

Food: bananas and strawberries

Agreed, more info please.

Assuming I’m alone and that no one is available to refill my coffee cup from a thermos while I’m still actively driving, a jumbo glass of iced tea and a couple pieces of convenient, out-of-hand eating fruit. (apples, oranges bananas, whatever - I’m not picky.)

Pretzel M&Ms, Shock Tarts, and the largest green tea I can find.

Ideal world: donut, Butterfingers candy bar, Mountain Dew
Actual: Trail mix, cut baby carrots (or baby-cut carrots), water (coffee if it’s an early start)
In either case, hope I pass either a Whataburger or an In N Out somewhere along the way and I will drive out of my way to stop at either one of those. But not too far out of my way.

Diet Coke - 16ish ounce. Screw-top cap. Bathroom issues are a minor concern; I don’t tend to drink it all that fast, and apparently I was a camel in a prior life.
Bag full of some kind of healthy munchie that can be eaten one-handed and does not require gnawing chunks off of it: baby carrots, bell pepper strips, grapes or whatever
Large container of some kind of bite-sized pretzel. The peanut butter-filled nuggets are pretty close to perfect for this purpose.

This!

Of course I always carry my “emergency pack” with me. It contains at least 2 MREs, 24 Payday bars, some beef jerky, & two bags of trail mix. I also always carry at least four gallons of water, & a bottle of water purification tablets. All this “just in case”.

A six hour trip is no big deal out west. It is not uncommon for me to do at least ten of these a month. Heck, driving from my place to either Denver, or Salt Lake city is at least six hours. There & back is 12 hours.

Fritos, mint oreos, and iced tea. I might have had Coke, but I didn’t want to take a chance on it’s going flat.

BTW, never leave a dachshund unattended in a car, with a bag of mint Oreos you forgot were there. Just sayin’.

^ Does it make his #2 smell minty fresh?

Only 1 beverage? Sorry, no can do.

If only one type of beverage, then I chose Cherry Coke Zero. With lots of ice.

For the food I’ll take some turkey jerky (protein) and Sun Chips.

Sometimes all I need is the air that I breathe.

I’m in the crowd that doesn’t really feel I need anything (other than some water) for a six-hour drive, but sure, why not be prepared?

For liquid, a very large bottle of anything that meets these requirements: non-carbonated, no sugar/artificial sweetener, must contain caffeine, is not straight up water. So a large bottle of unsweetened green tea would be perfect.

For food, a gourmet turkey sandwich (whole grain bread, oven-roasted turkey, tomato, arugula, mustard or chutney or both). I doubt a second item would get eaten, but I guess an apple or banana or some dried cranberries would be nice.

I’ve just never been much for eating on the road-run but when needed
RC Cola and sunflower seeds or maybe some beef jerky

You’re a hero.

Nobody is claiming it is a big deal. Or that we will perish without a bag of Twizzlers within reach. It’s just a fun hypothetical.
mmm

12 pack of Coors Light on ice, 2# of twizzlers, and a large bag of multi-grain sun chips. No matter what, I ain’t doing 6 hours without a stop or two.

An eightball of coke will do me.

I don’t generally snack on road trips, but for the hypothetical, I’ll have whatever the largest size of Diet Coke I can have is. I do usually like to have something to sip on.

To snack on, though–I really can’t think of anything. For food I usually pull over and have a meal. But I’ll go with, I dunno, two Clif bars or something of that nature.

Quarter Pounder with cheese, fries and a giant stay-cool cup of ice water.

I’m easy, though. I can substitute a giant Cinnabun for the fries.

From previous experiences -
2 liter of cherry coke, giant bag of ruffles and along the way I stop at a Costco for a hot dog.

Younger me was not practical. but it worked

Boiled peanuts, chocolate covered raisins, and water

Traditional

Snyder’s Sourdough pretzels
Hershey’s milk chocolate with almonds
Bottled ice tea, sweetened with sugar, not HFCS, no peach flavor
