I got the idea a couple of weeks ago. I had this real old recipe for pickled radishes. Of course I wasn’t about to make that–it involved a little canning. And as you may know, canning is a very dangerous thing to do even when you know exactly what you’re doing (and I didn’t ;)).
I’ve actually had the old recipe for some time. But it was only recently I tried to cook radishes.
I poked them with a fork and then placed them in a little water in a microwave. Once cooked, they actually taste quite good. They are mild–like a turnip. But they also retain a little bit of their sharpness too in their cooked state. I melted some butter on them, along with some salt and pepper.
I wonder if there are any other recipes for cooking radishes.
