Dude, WTF did I ever do to you?
Yeah, I don’t think anyone here is going to be defending him, if that’s what Shodan was hoping for.
No, he’s wrong because there is no link between thimerosal and autism. He’s a dolt/moron because he thinks there is, in addition to his drug abuse, was disbarred for a while, etc. All these are examples of his thinking (so to speak). IOW these are all reasons to publicly ridicule him.
Likewise, Jenny McCarthy is wrong because she also thinks the same stupid thing about vaccines. But she isn’t as bad as Kennedy because I have seen her naked. So she has a bit of an upside to her public appearances.
That’s not why he’s wrong - his stupid and ignorant opinions are being given more weight than they deserve because his father and uncles were involved in politics, and a couple of them got shot.
IOW he is getting more attention than he deserves because he is a Kennedy, just like McCarthy gets more attention than she deserves because she has large breasts. McCarthy’s breasts are more entertaining than Kennedy’s latest public meltdown.
Regards,
Shodan
Jokes on all of you. He’s really a Holocaust denier. That makes him a cunt.
In his defense, I hear he comes from a good family. A cadet branch of the Lannisters, I believe…
As a liberal, I entertain myself by imagining Michelle Malkin naked.
Need a cite from somewhere other than foxnews or some hateful conservative blog to react
Robert Kennedy, Jr. - Dolt or Moron?
Dolt, I say. Doesn’t make the old-fashioned clinical definition of Moron (though you may say he fit the more contemporary casual colloquial one). Which together with the juniored name, makes it even more of a problem because it means he’s able to speak articulately from a position of assumed enlightenment (assumed by those who don’t know better).
And he’d be one even if his personal/professional record were clear as the freshly fallen snow.
I’ve never actually heard of anyone being struck gay on the spot, like lightning, but I see no reason to take any such chances.
Here’s The Daily Show fawning all over his anti-vax conspiracy theory in 2005:
RFK Jr’s interest in causing children to die has been long known. You wishing it wasn’t true because you can’t admit someone with his last name or party ID card is such an idiot reflects only on you.
McCarthy’s breasts are more entertaining than…well, pretty much anything I can think of.
They’re smarter than she is, for one thing.
You do know The Daily Show is satire, right?
No, the interviews conducted by the host are not satire. Stop trying to defend the fact that Democrats turn their ability to Fucking Love Science on and off depending on what letter the conspiracy nut has after his name.
And more real, which is scary.
Bobby Jr has made me reevaluate the nice thoughts I have of his dad.
Or depending on what decade it is. 2005 was back when there was still some apparently credible evidence linking vaccine with autism. It wasn’t true but it was something reasonable people could see as possible. It wasn’t until 2009 that it was revealed that the evidence was based on falsified studies.
Smart people don’t “turn their ability to Fucking Love Science on and off” - they look at the evidence, which sometimes takes a while to become clear. It’s simple minded people who believe they can feel right away whether or not something is true.
Impressive rationalization. Do you get a free Hillary 2016 bumper sticker for that?
What mainstream support do you suppose RFK Jr has? The only time I ever hear his name is in regards to things like these stunts, and they’re widely greeted with derision from all sides. He’s a marginal figure by any measure. Yes, the Daily Show made a mistake once upon a time, ten years ago, by giving his viewpoint credence (I watched that particular show live and was gobsmacked at the time at such nonsense). However, since then, TDS has learned from its mistake and has vociferously attacked anti-vaccination movements. Would that all people would do so with their mistakes.
To wit on TDS and the attacks on anti-vaxxers:
The Daily Show, Salon, and HuffPo define the mainstream of Democratic thought.
TDS gave RFKJ a platform. Salon used to publish pieces like this: http://www.salon.com/2000/08/02/autism_5/ as well as an article by RFKJ. Anti-vaxx bullshit has been a mainstay on HuffPo for its whole existence.
I’m very glad that Rand Paul said something dumb about vaccines a few months ago. It caused Democrats who previously tolerated or endorsed the anti-vaccine conspiracy theory to suddenly find the motivation to do a total flip-flop. This will result in fewer children dying, and had a markedly swift effect on people like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, who joined longtime stalwarts of solid vaccination science such as Scott Walker in finally taking an unambiguous stand in favor of immunizations.
But, let’s not rewrite history about how we got here – antivax was a left-wing thing for a while and the main organs of “progressive” thought were what publicized it to the type of people who don’t listen to the Alex Jones show.
