Rochester (NY) Dopefest: Sunday, August 19th

Yes, there are four Distillery restaurants in the area. One near Greece, one on Mount Hope, one near Henrietta, and one in Victor. We are meeting at the one near Greece. The address is 300 Paddy Creek Circle, Rochester, NY. The phone number is (585) 621-1620.

If you go to one of the other three, you’ll have a pleasant meal but the conversation will be lacking.

I hate to do it, but I have to cancel. I honestly was looking forward to having some drinks and convo with you guys. I’m sorry I’m gonna miss it.

Annnnnnnd…now I can’t go.
We’re stuck here in Buffalo because some of my family wanted to go to the Erie
County Fair for the last day it’s here. And they’re not about to cut the day short to go all the way back to Rochester.

I’ll be there.

Wish I could’ve been there, but we’ve been in South Carolina. Long story.

Did anything interesting happen?

I going to be there next weekend - sorry it couldn’t have been this weekend.

How was it, sitting there all by yourself?

Well, the dopefest was a success, but only Little Nemo, elmwood and I were there. The good news it that we had a great time amongst ourselves, drank up most of the beer in Rochester, solved some New York State food mysteries. I, of course, had to bring up “Devil’s Strip” and it went down hill from there. Let’s try this one again in the Spring/Summer/Early Fall next year. Nice town.

We also solved the Riddle of the Volunteer Firemen. And now the rest of you will never know the answer.

So sorry that I didn’t turn up! I had planned to, but just a few days before the Dopefest, I got a puppy, and he was still acclimating to the house and his new adoptive family. Since I was leaving for an overnight work trip on the 20th, and I already didn’t want to leave him while he was new, I decided to stay in on Sunday.

And aside from that, I had hardly any time to get on the computer for the next several weeks, as my life was consumed with potty training, cleaning up messes, and trying to keep him occupied. But things have settled down now, and I hope to be back participating in the boards now.

I’ll have to be on the lookout for this, as I tend to miss online meetups by a week or so especially in NY, and I’m planning on coming up in Spring.
