Why is it obvious that the secret service saw it as a threat? Because they don’t question you if you don’t threaten the president.
I think your, “Give Conservatives Massive Benefit of the Doubt” circuit is tripping.

…
Why else would they question him with regards to his statements? Trading venison recipes?
“Mr. Nugent, we’re big fans. Please don’t commit suicide if Obama wins the election.”
Projecting much?
Come on, we all know you are on this board because you get your rocks off telling all us liberals that we are so horrible.
Oh, and nice job calling Bricker a liberal.
You know, there’s a difference between these two statements:
“I don’t agree that Nugent meant he would try to kill Obama.”
and
“I don’t see any possible way to interpret Nugent’s statement as he would try to kill Obama.”
The former is a difference of opinion. The latter is either disingenuous or rock-stupid.
What makes you think they questioned him? Read the linked article, or read my post #39 in this thread.
When the NRA convention was held in Pittsburgh a few years ago, I saw Nugent at his booth selling autographed arrows and similar grot. He looked like any tired, old, grumpy man whose feet hurt and is peeved because he has to piss again because of his goddamned prostate. This kind of public woofing at politicians, I expect, is one of the few ways left to him to feel virile and relevant. I’m glad it backfired on the chicken hawk SOB this time.
Better question: why is it not obvious to you?
The “dead or in jail” thing implies that one or the other will be the consequence of something he’s going to do in direct response to Obama’s reelection. Is he really going to do anything? No, because he’s a pussy blowhard throwing red meat to his fan base, but that doesn’t mean we can’t possibly glean the meaning from his mysterious words.
If someone said “I don’t care if that kid is a cop’s son-- if he comes near my daughter again, I’ll end up dead or in jail,” would the meaning not be clear, or would we all still be sitting around pretending to scratch our heads and straining to imagine what could POSSIBLY by meant by such a statement?
Ted knows what he meant. It was code that was clearly understood by his moronic fans, but vague enough that he wouldn’t be arrested and we could enjoy this sham of a debate.
They’ve said they’re going to question him and Nugent says the conversation is set to happen on Thursday.

The Secret Service will be meeting with Nugent Thursday. I can’t say for sure, but I imagine there will be some questioning going on.
Yes, because that’s the same thing as saying that, for instance, he’d wind up dead or in jail if you kept on trolling this messageboard.
Even you are smart enough to know that would be a threat.
*Note: the hypothetical opinion in my post is not in any way endorsed by me. (After my first Warning for that type of thing, I make sure to cover my ass.)
Saw the video. The general statement was supposed to do exactly what it did.
He trolled the Government so he couldnt rant about how bad Obama is.
I wonder if Nugent is going to stop going to the bathroom, and do the Secret Service interview while sitting in his own urine and excrement? I mean he has a past history, does he not?
Nah, he trolled the government to reassure himself that he’s still famous enough for someone to notice.
OK. I hadn’t seen that before.
Now, on to the next question. Why do you assume that the Secret Service investigates only threats to the president’s life? Or, as some have said, Nugents comments might be construed to be a threat on Obama, but don’t necessarily have to be. I wouldn’t even say it’s the most obvious interpretation, although it certainly is one possibility. His earlier comments were much more threatening, and if they didn’t interview him then, perhaps this interview is more about his, shall we say, “entire opus” rather than this specific comment.
I rememberwhen, back during the Clinton years, he was photographed using pictures of Janet Reno and Hilary as shooting targets.
Sadly, there is a large audience for those sorts of mean-spirited, divisive antics.
Ted Nugent clarifies who the real victim here is:
OK, maybe that should be Ted Nugent confirms how breathtakingly little he understands about the world. What is it with rich white male conservatives and their insane need to portray themselves as the real victims?
Apparently somebody needs to dust off their copy of “Stranglehold”…baby.
