I’m happy with their choice. Hopefully JD and the band will continue beyond one album and tour.
“Easy Easy, tease me tease me”? Oh boy.
JD did a great job with What You Need. Can’t really see the preference for Marty’s discipline, but I respect the choice. Well, except for his ridiculous tattoos.
Interesting to see:
- what happens with INXS - the album, the tour, etc…
- the show - what band might they use next?
I couldn’t stand JD at first but grew to believe he was the best choice. He has come a LONG way vocally over the season. He’s sounded great on the last 8 or so songs.
I was pretty sure JD would be the one from the start.
Did anyone else notice they said they were having another Rock Star series next year?
I wonder if they have the band chosen yet? Any thoughts? The 2 that come to my head are:
Nirvana
Blind Melon
Sublime
But I’m pretty sure none of those 3 would happen, Nirvana would probably be the best, but I don’t think Dave Grohl is going to leave Foo Fighters anytime soon to ressurrect Nirvana!

INXS was concerned about Suzie because she may not be able to handle media interviews. The band said the media blitz would happen the second they chose a new lead singer.
Where’s the media blitz?
CNN.com has nothing.
MSN.com has nothing.
Yahoo! has an article. Here’s a snipet as to one possible reason they chose JD over Marty. “He’s very passionate,” bassist Beers said of his new mate. “He’s got a lot of energy. And we feel comfortable about what hes going to bring to INXS and appreciate what we are offering him more than anybody. He’s now an equal member of the brain trust of INXS performance-wise and in the studio. And that will unfold as we go along.” (emphasis added).
Maybe they were afraid that Marty was too ambitious, would try to take them in directions INXS might not want to go, whereas JD will pretty much do what INXS says.
I think it was a bad call.
They could have found a sound alike years ago. Makes me think they slated JD from the start and just played out the show to build up cd sales for the next release. Lessons learned from American Idol.
That and old school INXS fans will be happy otherwise I think it was a poor choice.
Seems like a decent amount of coverage to me.
Hello,
Can anybody come close David Hutchinson? Who tops him?
Peace!

I wasn’t rooting JD the end of one show had him singing over the credits.
I think Michael Hutchence topped him…
