Hi, I’ve played a copy of the old Nintendo game- I wanted to know:
How do you use the crowbar or the brick on locked builidings, and how do you break the locks to get in?
How do you use dynamite and the detonator?
How do you get inside the gag factory and the cartoon studio?
What’s the function of the rose, the whistle, and other items found in the game?
Is there a faster way to thwart the weasle in the straight jacket other than punching him repeatly in the head?
Are there any (hidden) secrets?
Most of your questions are answered here.
You can only use the crowbar to get into locked buildings. The brick is just a weapon. To use the crowbar, select it and press B to throw it. It will travel from Eddie in an arc in the direction he’s facing. The flying crowbar must hit the lock, and it’ll fall off.
Once you have both, go to the brick wall at the bottom of the map in LA. Get out of Benny, and push B while next to the wall (if you have the whistle, it will also go off). The brick wall should go away. Now you can take the tunnel to Toontown!
You can’t. Sorry.
Give it to Jessica at the Ink and Paint Club. You’ll get some points. I think this is also how you get her to tell you her “phone number.” It is (was) an actual number that you could call to have “Jessica” give you a hint for the game. It no longer works.
Use it while outside to call Benny the Cab
Many of them are just weapons to use in the random fights with weasles, snakes in caves, or any other enemy you see. You see more enemies in Toontown than in LA. The rattle is used in caves. You give it to a rattlesnake and it won’t kill you. The flashlight is used to see in caves. The spring shoes are used to jump. Anything else?
Using weapons, such as bricks and exploding cigars, will deal more damage.
There’s the aforementioned phone number, which as I said no longer works. There is a secret building in Toontown where you can get an infinite amount of every item, but I can’t remember off the top of my head how to get there. Once you’re in Toontown look it up on Gamefaqs.
I just wanted to show off my extensive knowledge of this game.
I never have won it, despite playing it extensively and even using the Game Genie. It’s fun, but mostly impossible to defeat.
I started playing this game before I could read. I remember having to make random guesses in the weasle riddle game because I couldn’t read the riddle or answers.
Since the crowbar travels in an arc, what direction must Eddie be facing to break the locks on locked buildings?
How do you use the cigars? Does Doom appear in the game? I know three of the weasels from the film appear in the game, what about the other two? I noticed that they dropped the name “Acme” from the game-due to copyright issues. Do any “Toons” appear in the game?
One trick I dicovered is if you go outside Valiant’s office to pick the wallet up, re-enter the office and search the file cabinet, another wallet will pop out, and you’ll automatically pick it up. If you repeat this process, you’ll acquire an infinite number of wallets.
How do you give Jessica a rose?
He just needs to face the lock and throw the crowbar at it. I remember it often took me several tries to hit it
Just set one down and it will explode either when an enemy touches it or after a short length of time. It can also hurt you, so be careful. Roger can set it off too, I think. It won’t hurt him of course, but it can be annoying if you’re trying to use your valuable weapons to kill an enemy and Roger wastes one.
Yup. He’s the final boss. At least, I think he’s the final boss. I’ve fought him many times, but never beaten him.
I don’t guess the other two appear.
Some toons do appear once you reach Toontown. Among the people you can talk to in Toontown is a generic-looking walking pig that comes as close as it can to resembling Porky without violating copyright.
The walking shoes that appear briefly in the movie are very annoying enemies in Toontown, like the rats in LA.
Yup. That’s a great trick. By the way, be sure to check the store often to get the many useful items it sells. The whistle is the most valuable one, and I think it’s the second item they sell. I can’t remember what the first is.
Just set one down near her when you’re in the Ink and Paint Club. She should come and get it.
Aside from the items already mentioned, you can also give a cigar to Baby Herman for points. Steaks will keep the dogs off you, and baseballs are used to get past a certain enemy. I’m pretty sure everything else I stockpiled for use on Doom.
Doom does appear in the game, and he is really difficult to beat - practice hopping around with full strength punches and releasing them one right after another.
You also give cheese to rats. I’m assuming you give fishbones to cats?
