Roger Waters: Have any of you seen his current tour?

My birthday is coming up and Roger Waters is in town. I thought that would be a fun way to celebrate.

I’ve seen Pink Floyd twice; Roger and David are on my short list of desert island music. I worship the ground they play on.

But (and this is a huge, undulating but): The only available tickets are right of the stage, 15th row, in the nosebleed section.

The tickets are close to $100 each after taxes and all the bullshit. That’s not a problem; I just need to know if it’s worth it. Has anyone seen his show? The Pink Floyd of yesteryear never failed to wow the fans, but I don’t want to fork over a deuce for a suck-fest.

Anyone? Buehler?

A guy in work actually went to see him last night here in Dublin. I’ll ask him what he thought about it after lunch and check back in.

Thank you! I await your response.

Crap! He’s not coming anywhere near me at anytime I can make it. Do I dare cross the border to Vancouver? Thats an 8 hour drive though. He’s the only Pink Floyd worth seeing.

Right I’ve asked him.

He said it was fan-fucking-tastic. He isn’t a huge Floyd but loved every second of it. He was with Floyd fans who said it was one of the best shows they’ve seen.

Light Show etc all to be expected.

1st half was stuff off The Wall and other Floyd albums as well as one or two of his own songs. Then he took a break for about 10 mins and came back and did Dark Side of the Moon.

He said that if you like Floyd you will love this show and you should get thee to a ticket outlet ASAP.

Some posts about the gig can be seen from post 49 on in the follwoing thread.

I didn’t realize he was doing mostly Pink Floyd material. I would be very happy with his solo stuff. In fact I would appreciate it more. He is really good.

I was told that it’s actually a Dark Side tour.

Thanks so much! I saw Dark Side the first time around and it was truly awesome. I would buy the tickets, but I hate shitty seats. I’m going to look around for a broker. Thanks again!

Oh the show was about 2 and a half hours long of actual playing. No support on the Irish leg.

I’ve seen Roger Waters solo three times, and each time was fantastic.

The last time I saw him was a couple of years ago in Seoul, S. Korea… I found out the day after the show that one of the guys I was working with had done security for the show, and had he known I was there, could have gotten me backstage! :smack:

And I just got tickets for the Irvine show! Woot!

Thanks for reminding me with this thread!
