I would reserve “tankie” for actual Marxist-Leninists. Waters doesn’t seem to have any particular coherent ideology, just a grab bag of often-contradictory “anti-establishment” beliefs. I’d probably go with “nutcase”.

From how I’ve seen folks use it ‘boomer’ no longer has anything to do with generational cohorts. If Waters was taking another position he wouldn’t be being called a ‘boomer’.

Hardly. “Boomer” is a mindset at this point. I’ve encountered boomers in their 30s.
As I entered middle age I decided to own the Boomer label since the Millennials just assume it. Though unlike Rog, I am technically inside the Boomer bracket by the American definition, I am so late in the time frame that I got many of the key cultural touchstones by reference years later, not “live as it happened”. And not being from the dominant culture group some of it had to be explained to me.
I like to point out since no one else did he also doesn’t know his history, the Soviets weren’t “already winning” by the time America joined the war on December 7th 1941, they had just barely survived and held during the Battle of Moscow. It wouldn’t be until Spring 1943 you could point to a definite turning of the tide in Stalingrad.
