Good one. And David Gilmour sings it to him.
And they’ll send you back to Mother in a cardboard box!
I gotta admit that I’m a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I’m just being used
The memories of a man in his old age
are the deeds of a man in his prime
No room there, apparently, to remember who started the Ukraine war.
Pink Floyd: David Gilmour and three plonks.
I don’t necessarily agree with this, but it’s something I’ve heard.
Meh, I’d resign with Waters not being a plonk so much as a relatively talented asshole.
The lunatic, is in [my] head.
Now there’s a look in [my] eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Heh… he’s basically telling Ukraine to exchange a lead role in the war for a walk(ed up)on bit in a cage.
(Which only reinforces that the original way was better written. And goodness gracious are we geeks.)
And yeah, man, sorry, “on an Ukrainian kill list”? WTF is happening to people? Are all the wireless things around actually frying our brains ?? Is this evidence drugs DO have long term bad aftereffects? (Looks around house. Is relieved to find NO Trump or Larouche paraphernalia) I seem to be still holding out but should I worry??
Or perhaps he has worn out his cachet with random precision and it is too late to lose the weight he needs to throw around.
It’s just a little pinprick. There’ll be no more AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, but you may feel a little sick.
¿Por qué no los dos? Like the late Earl Warren.
Is there room for Putin at the Fletcher Memorial Home?
Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere
And build them a home a little place of their own
the Fletcher Memorial Home
For incurable tyrants and kings
What’s really weird is he quoted the original line in the cringe-inducing open letter he sent to Zelenskys wife, where he argued for stopping the war at any cost. All the times I played “Wish you were here” and heard that line, I never imagined that the cage was supposed to be the good choice.
He probably refers to a list of russian disinfo agents assembled by Ukraines “Center for Countering Disinformation”. Many of the people finding themselves on the list reacted by parroting a new piece of russian disnfo, that it was a “kill list”.
Its in Ukraine but Roger is no 8 from the bottom:

mentioned it upthread … the Maradonna/Nugent/Waters effect:
being brilliant in ONE thing doesn’t make you brilliant in others … quite often the opposite
also: he is now 78 (or 79?) years old … so think of him more like your weird uncle Joe than the rockstar he is in our memory
but yes, he should have stopped digging years ago and not harm his legacy
Heh. Great list (with thanks to Google Translate). Glad to see that Tucker is on it too. Along with Steven Segal and Rand Paul. That’s some august company, right Rog?
He’s worked longer on destroying whatever ‘legacy’ he had than he spent building it.
Well, would you rather have a walk-on part in a war or a lead role in a cage? You may survive that walk-on, but at what cost to your mind / body / soul? If you truly believe that war is a bad thing, then the lead role is the one for you.
Maradona. One “n”.
Continue.
interesting observation, indeed …
goes to show that 10 good years (say '67 - '77 and throw in '92 for a good album) radiate more than 20 years of boredom and pain
had he stopped giving interviews in 2000 he’d be “the legend”, now he’s “the legend, but …”
While I’m with you, I like The Wall. I think it’s still a good album, (if you ignore the fascist part of side 4), but yes it really is the beginnings of Ranty Rog the tankie.
( I think The Gunner’s Dream, and The Final Cut are two of their very best songs, but the rest of album can be used to line a pig trough as far as I’m concerned.)
