Well, after hearing about some of the new features of RCT2, I decided to purchase it, along with the expansion pack “Wacky Worlds”.
I had some problems loading it and continue to have problems loading the game. Sometimes it just doesn’t want to load and the patch they offered doesn’t seem to help. With a little patience though, I can usually get the game to run eventually. I contacted tech support a week ago concerning my issues and haven’t received a reply as of yet.
One of the new features is a “Scenario Builder”. I was happy to see this as I generally don’t like playing the scenarios that come with the game. In the past, I would use a trainer to create my own scenarios, which was great. No longer did I have to worry about meeting the game criteria such as having X number of people in the park by a given date. I also didn’t have to worry about buying land, getting all of the attractions and scenery, and running out of money. I prefer to just have a palette to create my own amusement park, taking all the time I want to make it just right, then opening it and managing it, trying to earn a profit.
Well, the new game allows me to take care of all of that, except for one thing. I cannot have all of the scenery available for a scenario. I can only choose a limited number of items and that just isn’t enough. I searched for a trainer that would allow me to get all of the scenery, like I can in RCT 1, but so far, no trainer offers that option. It really is frustrating. Does anyone know of a trainer that allows this option. I would be forever grateful.
Another complaint is that the original game offered you far more types of land that you could build, with many of them being walls. These are not offered in the new game. You also do not have the mountain building tool, except in the scenario builder. Luckily, there is a tainer that you can use to get around this.
Other than that though, I like the game. The addition of ATM’s means that the visitors can take out more money when they get to the park and spend more. The rides are more interesting and it would appear that all of the original rides are there. Some interesting additions are waterfalls, first aid stations, two types of bathroom, and many more food stands.
I would be interested in hearing what others think of this game and especially if they have
A) had problems loading the game
B) found a way to get all of the rides and scenery to be available.
I swear, this game is like crack cocaine. I got 3 hours of sleep last night because of it.
