If you’re starting a thread, please remember that along with a descriptive thread title, the second most important thing is to have the beginning of the post, the part that will be visible in preview, give us a better idea what the thread will be about. This is especially true if the title was deliberately ambiguous for the sake of wit or a pun. (thread title: “My Cock”; thread message: “My bantam rooster, Joe…”)
Two things that are a complete waste of rollover:
putting a long, long link address in first (e.g. “[noparse]Longwinded.com might be for sale. Request the price today.”[/noparse])
And an uninformative preamble (e.g. “I decided to finally post about something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to get into it because it’s really hard to explain but it isn’t that I don’t want to talk about it it’s just that if you really think about it you sometimes wonder if it’s all just in your head. Anyway…”)
