What a loss for music. Next to *The Clash *, this band played a big part in forming my musical tastes.
Bummer. He was part of something super influential, even if the Stooges never quite broke through on their own…
I did report the OP to see if we can get the title spelling of his name corrected to Asheton…
Sad news.
I had the privilege of seeing the Stooges perform at the 2007 Lollapalooza. I know reunion shows can never really capture the magic of a band as they were 35 years before, but it was a great show. The band had everyone jump the fences and get on stage for a song or two. Definitely a stand out concert memory for me. I’ll have a listen to Fun House tonight.
Badumdumdumdum-dumdum,
Badumdumdumdum-dumdum,
Badumdumdumdum-dumdum,
Badumdumdumdum-dumdum.
No. Fun.
:smack: Thanks
Music has just lost another note. Not too much in the rock world compares to one of Asheton’s riffs. I was fortunate enough to be at their Detroit reunion show in 2003…man what a night.
RIP man.
Man, this is terrible. Way too young to go.
