Those supporters are lying. They are passing this solely for Ron. I can’t see them going through all this trouble if he’s not going to run.

Hernando County/Brooksville is traditionally klan country. It’s solidly red/right wing.
And yet there is concerned pushback against this crackdown on teachers and schools. People are showing up to express outrage at book banning and a government wasting its time worrying about frivolous issues.
Our local TV station also serves far northern Iowa, and today I saw the first commercial for 2024. It was the Never Back Down PAC supporting DeSantis. It starts with Tucker Carlson and then a bunch of clips of DeSantis yelling at reporters and anyone who challenges him, two faces that make you want to punch the screen. It’s been on three times during one one-hour news block. It’s going to backfire on them, since it’s too loud, too obnoxious, and too early.
The interesting thing is that DeSantis changed the rules on transferring money to out of state PACs so he could offload his war chest to this Never Back Down. Normally that’d be millions of dollars tied up in Florida-politics-only PACs. People who thought their money was staying in Florida politics have been played for chumps.

I wonder how many sheep testicles DeSantis will eat at the Basque Fry this year. Could it be like Schweddy Balls on Saturday? Maybe they’ll have plenty of oil so they glisten. Hopefully they won’t have rested on a hot stove for too long-it’d be a shame if they were misshapen. If I were DeSantis, I’d try to do an upturned eyebrow thing like Jeffrey Duncan Jones while eating them -‘Mmm balls.’
