Glad she’s gone. I’ve never seen a single episode of the show in either incarnation, going strictly by the standards of human conduct she does not deserve to be on television.
I doubt it. The producers started bailing on the show before Disney pulled the plug.
Wanda Sykes tweeted she won’t be back as head writer before it was cancelled. I’d hope the cast would have the same notion if it were to be picked up by another network.
Though, Fox is not the same entity as Fox News, so I doubt they’d go for such a radioactive show now.
News Flash: Rosanne Barr discovered to be classless piece of trash!
Is anyone really surprised?
I can’t believe this reboot happened in the first place, but I guess I’m glad there’s still enough decency in the world that it got cancelled now.
Other than “because Roseanne Barr is a racist idiot” why the poke at Valerie Jarrett? I don’t remember Jarrett being associated with any scandals and looking at Wiki it doesn’t seem like she’s been up to anything since leaving the White House. It seems very random to say “remember that person who held a minor and non-controversial position in the government a couple years ago? Fuck them!”
I don’t understand why they couldn’t just fire Roseanne, kill off the character, and rename the show to something like The Connor Family.
It came from a series of tweets about the Obamas being exposed by Wikileaks and somebody claimed that Jarrett had helped to cover up a lot of stuff, and that’s when Roseanne Barr went full on Trump racist.
The tweets originated from something called SGTReport, which turns out to be some sort of right wing conspiracy theory website, their front page has stories about Pizzagate and the Deep State. So that’s the sort of stuff Roseanne reads.
Gone? If I were a TV producer or cable channel, I’d jump at the chance to pick up her show. The controversy alone is worth millions to billions.
Sadly, I am a TV producer and a cable channel. But there’s No Fucking Way I could afford her price.
(Roseanne…call me, OK?)
According to The New York Times, number three, behind Sunday Night Football and This Is Us. So certainly the top comedy.

I think there are some strange conspiracy nuts who think Valerie Jarrett was responsible for hiding the “Obama scandals”

You’re assuming that they could carry on elsewhere despite losing a writer and having what would surely be a dysfunctional workplace. Do you really suppose her costars would relish the opportunity to work with the woman who derailed their gravy train?

They don’t have to kill her off. Have her arrested for voter fraud, having voted several times for trump. When she gets out of jail, she is divorced, destitute, and the only job she can get that lets her sit on a couch is on fox and friends.
Then the Connor Family can make references to that crazy person that used to be here.

The Gravy Train is a powerful force, IOW, money talks.

And this is why we have to deal with pieces of shit like Cosby, Weinstein, and Barr. You and everyone else who is willing to look the other way because “money” are directly responsible and should be held legally liable.

This was my first thought but then I wondered if there could be a very expensive dispute about who created the characters on the TV show. It still might not be a bad idea.
The characters’ creator would have copyright claims to the characters on the show if the characters are used in another TV show. Matt Williams is the show’s credited creator but Ms. Barr has asserted that she should have a co-creator credit. Perhaps this claim has some merit but the Writer’s Guild apparently determined that Matt Williams was entitled to full credit. (See here: A Roseanne family reunion)
During the show’s original run, Ms. Barr was probably payed enough to act and produce that losing the creator credit hurt solely her ego. If she were dropped as an actor and producer of the revival, she would have nothing to lose by suing to press copyright claims on the characters. This could tie up production in litigation and might lead to Ms. Barr receiving a bunch of money for a show she would have nothing to do with. The Roseanne-less show isn’t likely worth as much as the revival with her in it. Killing the show is certainly easier.
Wherever she lands, she’s going to need a new agent. ICM just dropped her as well.
Axing Barr was long overdue. Aside from legal considerations, changing the name of the show and giving some lame excuse about her character’s absence wouldn’t work. All in the Family tried doing that when actress Maureen Stapleton, one of the leads, decided to leave. The result, Archie Bunker’s Place, was a flop.
People made far too many excuses for Barr for far too long. The chuckle-chuckle “That’s Roseann for you!” excuses made her arrogant, but the person who got the show canceled is the person she’s been all along. Fans kept giving her second chances because they could ignore Barr’s racism. I’m glad ABC recognized that looking the other way, making excuses, or giving her yet another chance were insufficient and gave her the boot.
A repeat of Roseanne is schedule this evening on ABC. Wonder if they take it off the schedule.

Instead of hating on her, they should be trying to convince Trump to hire her. Because if what they are saying is true, Valerie Jarrett is a freakin’ mastermind.
