While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.

I’m sure the FDA would have forced Sanofi to put that side effect into a black box warning.

It’s possible she gets another show but not right away. Don Imus got fired from his radio show for his “nappy headed women” talk and was back on the air less than a year later. He just retired a few months ago.

Roseanne isn’t going to get another show; best case scenario is that seasons 1-9 quietly return to syndication within a year. Not even Fox News is going to take a chance on Ambien’s unwanted spokesbigot. Maybe Breitbart gives her a blog.

Ambien is like alcohol - it won’t make you violent, promiscuous, racist etc. but it WILL make it more likely for you to get into a fistfight, have sex you regret the next morning, and spout bigoted drivel on social media. It doesn’t put anything in you not already there, it just makes it easier for what’s already there to leak out.

I heard someplace, possible the public radio station, that the actors who play her character’s children as well as her real-life children tried to get her to stay off Twitter prior to this happening. She has the same problem with Twitter as Donald Trump. But he can get away with stuff that she can’t.

At one point her adult children managed to take over her social media accounts and changed her password so she couldn’t access them, but obviously that didn’t last.

It’s too bad. They were doing decent on the reboot. Contrary to what most people here assumed was happening, it wasn’t remotely a Trump love fest and did a good job at capturing the feel of the first run.

If that’s the case I’m glad I missed the first one. I saw two of the reboot and honestly there was not a single moment that caused me to smile… much less laugh. Awful.

Gilbert, Chalke and Metcalfe in particular will be okay. They all had very long runs with successful series. Gilbert and Metcalfe in particular were making HUGE amounts the last couple seasons of the original Roseanne series. I’m sure all three are more or less quite comfortably set for life.

The others are going to vary on a sliding scale, but it is new, younger actors that are really going to take it on the chin.

Someone on Twitter proposed that they kill off Roseanne and have Dan take in a boarder played by Jeff Bridges. Then morph the show into a Big Lebowski revival.

Sounded good to me.
