'Roseanne' returning to ABC with the full cast intact

He was Rosanne’s boss in the two seasons.

I watched Roseanne regularly the first three seasons. The Halloween episodes were always very good.

I lost interest and didn’t watch the regularly beyond that. I did see an episode where Jackie BF abuses her. Dan finds out and beats the crap out of the guy (yay!) and goes to jail. It seemed a bit serious for a sitcom. Dramas usually tackles domestic abuse.

According to the only article I’ve read about this, it will turn out that Roseanne’s “final episode complete series rewrite” was mistaken about Dan, who faked his own death.
Roseanne apparently doesn’t know when to stop digging.

I’m definitely not going to bother watching this, I think it’s almost certainly going to stink.

Oy, that’s bad. I loved Roseanne when it aired, and it does hold up in reruns, but I’m not terribly excited about this. I was so psyched for X-files and Gilmore Girls, but I’m not sure there’s much more I need to know about the Connor’s story.

Oh, geez. Faked his own death?? :smack: A campy riff on Dallas’s “it was all a dream” to explain it away would be better. Although I guess they already did that.

What a mess.

No. “A dweam wiffin a dweam.”

*Roseanne *is one of the many, many shows I never saw a minute of during my long hiatus from watching TV. (Never saw Friends, or Seinfeld, or any programs in that 15 or so years.) Given the massive quality improvement in most programming, I am not sure who thinks dragging a long-running (=all plots exhausted) '80s sitcom back is a good idea. See: The Bradys. Or even the later Lucy shows.

I’d bet he will be a minor character, seen only every third episode or something. Just guessing.

Loyalty? Her casting him on her show is what made him a star, and maybe it never went to his head.

They can always cop out the way *Dallas * did and say it was a dream.

I didn’t know that about Glenn Quinn, the guy who played Mark.

And a heroin overdose. Gee, for an actor playing a working-class white guy in flyover country, isn’t that taking method acting a little too far?

nm

Will Johnny Galecki participate? I’ve seen no mention of him, not in the articles nor in this thread.
mmm

I mentioned that one of the son-in-laws was dead and the other son-in-law was a lead actor in a highly successful sit-com.

You forgot about his unforgettable performance in

Revenge of the Nerds

Dan was only dead in the last episode. They could do a “that didn’t happen”.
