Rosie loves George! Why?

If the Democrats still have most of the Hollywood airheads, Republicans do quite well among country singers (Travis Tritt has to be responsible for the all-time worst campaign song).

But what kind of love does Rosie cherish for W? A sunny, all-embracing agapè, I hope? Naw, it’s probably visceral, that impish frat boy grin and tanned West Texas musculature have clearly gotten to her…

W seems a nice enough guy, but his brain is tabula rasa for whatever his advisors and the business lobby want to inscribe. He should have become a manager at a convenience store or family restaurant.

September 11 reminds us of the value of civility and tolerance (Jesus, does it), but that doesn’t mean getting all smarmy with gooey lovecakes and forgetting real political differences. By all means, recognize your political opponents’ humanity, but don’t forget they’re your opponents. Rosie’s reaction seems to indicate that she opposed W on the basis of emotion, and perhaps running with the media-entertainment herd, not reasoned policy issues. Now that the entertainment industry has gone red, white and blue, she continues to let emotion rule her. But then, what else would she go with? Her brain?
