Thread’s like these remove all my doubt about whether it’d be a good thing to post a picture of myself in the ‘another dopers photo thread’ thread. 
Just out of curiosity, are you Asian? I wuz wondering. Most of the women I know almost never find Asian men to be attractive, except in rare cases.
I’m a little surprised at the number of women who are choosing #6 over #7, but maybe that’s just me.
#5 Still a cutie. I don’t care what anyone else says, I like the hair, and the mischevous smile.
#6 Wow, very yummy. I’ll guess he’s over six foot? That sweater is so very wrong on him.
#7 Very intense, needs to smile to more, or stare less. He looks like he’s about to try and sell me something. Nice body, but I don’t find him attractive.
#8 Who let Oliver Queen in here? Bad photo, and that goatee has got to go. He looks like me might be a lot of fun to hang around with, but I’d never get over his resemblence to the Green Arrow.

#5 reminds me of someone I know who is a bit of a slimy womanizer - if this man’s personality proved otherwise, I would find him only mildly attractive. But probably would like to go out and drink with him.
#6 kinda reminds me of my ex - clean cut looking guy, probably nice and even tempered. Has an interesting intensity to his look here - might prove to be a powder keg to the right woman.
#7 Mrrowr. Something about this guy just speaks to me. If I were single, I’d probably be following him around. 
Combination of his eyes, face and body. I’d love to hear his voice. Please tell him to call me at work.
#8 Air of desperation - something about the tilt of his head. I have an idea this is one of those guys who try far, far too hard.

I dare any doper to reverse the concept of this thread. That’s a thread with pictures of four or five women, inviting Straight Dope men to comment on their appearances. I say nobody has the balls/ovaries to do it.

#6. Good genes. Pretty. Since we’re being shallow, I’ll just admit that he loses some points with me because I hate his sweater.
#5. Seems like he might be a fun guy; on the other hand, he also looks like he might be a guy who would laugh about you behind your back. I’d be cautious about him.
#7. Probably a very nice and sweet guy, but not my type. I’d guess he’s trying to look older by growing that goatee, but he’s really not doing himself any favors.
#6 - The most attractive so far. I like his body best. His face is pleasing. I think he bought that sweater at Target.
#s 5, 7, & 8 - are all not attractive to me. They are not hideous; they just don’t appeal. #5’s hair is too Don King-ish and he seems too alpha male. #7’s arms, hands, and head tilt are a turn-off. Is he short? #8 appears too effeminate.
First impressions from a photograph are not much to go on. I can be attracted to men who are initially visually unappealing if they have good personalities.
#6 is a hottie!

Woo hoo. I’m not a guy, but I am so ready for that thread. Heck, I think we should have an entire forum just for that purpose.
#5 - The smile helps, and he looks like he’s got a good sense of humor, but not really my type.
#6 - DAMN, he’s hot! I just want to run my fingers through his hair. I’ll buck the trend and say I kinda like the JCrew-ish sweater.
#7 - I think this picture and the one from the previous thread need to be used together. It shows that there are multiple sides to his personality. I still like his kinda-geeky, sweet-guy look.
#8 - Cute. I’m not getting much about his personality from the picture though.

Have any of them changed anything based on these comments? For example, has #6 gotten rid of that sweater since so many women seem to dislike it? And #5 has repeatedly been told to get rid of the goatee. Is he thinking about doing that?
If I knew five women, I’d do it just to show you up!

I like #5 best based on what his appearance tells me about him (not that you can get much that way IMO).
He looks like so much fun.
Weird, I don’t think he looks cocky or untrustworthy at ALL, I just think he looks like an individual.
All are attractive in their own way.
I need a cleaner-cut guy than #2 but I know a lot of younger women (I’m 33 now) like that look.
#7’s t shirt is slightly too tight for me but I think that’s a regional, and certainly superficial, thing.
#8 pic is not really good enough to get anything out of it IMO.
Since I missed this last time around, and since I’ve done rounds 1 and 3, I’ll have a go at this now.
#5 - Looks like Jeff Goldblum at quick glance, and I don’t find that very appealing.
#6 - He could be the guy in the next cubicle - young engineer - looks pleasant enough.
#7 - The pose is hokey, as is his expression. Doesn’t impress me.
#8 - Not a great photo, but he looks to be a nice guy - I’d talk to him.
