This almost deserves a new thread (here, in the Pit), but, tl;dr, where are all the efforts at massive voter suppression? The death of our democracy? Yes I know about the purging of voter rolls and such, and if the Dems overcame that, then, awesome.

Maybe not a Pit thread, but …

Who rigged the election?

The elections went smoothly, in every state. How did this happen? As the bad results came in, I expected Trump to tweet in all caps: “the election was rigged!” . I expected to hear reports of Republican election officials refusing to certify the counts. I expected Republicans to file court cases demanding recounts, or verifying signatures on mail-in ballots , or whatever. I expected to see news conferences similar to Rudolph Giuliani at the Four Seasons warehouse. I expected to see demonst…

Also, my take on the subject is: the “DEPLOY THE PARACHUTES!!!” crowd may very well BE the reason why the election seems to have gone off smoothly.

To ‘perfect’ my analogy, maybe the parachutes are WHY we didn’t smack into the Earth at terminal velocity
