“Reindeer games” include, apparently, Monopoly, which scans the same as “History” and its exemplar, George Washington. Although I think “Hitler” would be funnier.
George Washington. The point is that it doesn’t match the poem at all.
And monopoly is totally a reindeer game, not football.

My kids, here in South Carolina, say George Washington.
Nope, the version I learned was “Like Pinnochio!”
Always heard “Like Lincoln” when I was growing up. This would be California in the 1980s.
Names? Like W. C. Fields or O. G. Wotasnozzle. 
Go down in history? Like Speedy Alka-Seltzer or Ronald McDonald.

George Washington. I’m in Ohio. Been that way since I was a kid, and it’s what I still hear when the small kids around here are singing it. I also concur with “like Pinocchio”
I didn’t even know it was possible to hear or single the song without doing the callbacks. It’s just automatic. I’m surprised to learn there are so many who weren’t aware of them.

It’s Columbus, btw, and my inner six-year old is vaguely offended by the notion that other than Columbus is even an option (my inner six-year old has views that many people find to be somewhat parochial).
