Does anyone know where I can get simulated ivory grips for my Ruger Mk.II pistol that have the Ruger logo (preferably in red)? Better yet, checkered ivory grips with the logo? I’ve seen smooth and checkered real ivory grips, but A) they’re expensive and B) I don’t want to take the chance that the ivory was illegally taken.
Those exact grips came on the William B. Ruger Endowment Spl NRA Edition. I think that your best bet would be looking for a pair that someone removed on the two gun auction houses: http://www.gunbroker.com and http://www.auctionarms.com . You might have some luck on the http://www.rugerforum.com as well.
Maybe that’s why I couldn’t find one with google. Can’t imagine anyone taking the grips off of a special edition.
