Kate Winslet
but again, not really a swooning sensation.
David Thewlis. Before that movie, I had considered him quite plain (but I’d only seen him playing the bad guy in Dragonheart).
I think British actors get better training–more stage time, perhaps?–that makes them more charismatic. Plus, so many of them seem to be trained in sword fighting.
A lot of British actors do it for me even if they’re not handsome or overtly sexy. It’s more a quality of presence, or self-confidence, that sets them apart from your typical empty-headed matinee idol.
That said, I saw Jeremy Northam in both Gosford Park and Persuasion, and he’s a hottie, in the classic, smoothly handsome sense. But Billy Boyd gets me hot, too. Oooh, and Geoffrey Rush - he’s awesome.
Serena Gordon. You know that scene at the beginning of Goldeneye where Bond is driving down the Grand Corniche to Monte Carlo and has an impromptu race with Famke Janssen in the Ferrari? She’s the one in the car with James.
And Geraldine Somerville, as well. Lily Potter from the Harry Potter flicks.
Once when I was sitting in a movie theater I suddenly thought to myself, “Rupert Everett should be in every movie.” After a minute a snapped out of it, but at that precise moment, it seemed like a perfectly reasonable idea.
Jude Law.
Gah! Can’t do less than five, and in no particular order: Ewan McGregor, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Jeremy Irons and, going back a ways, Kenneth More.
Upon a very brief lookthrough with this thread and imdb, everybody in this thread. Leastways, all the males. Plus Ralph Fiennes - why hasn’t he been mentioned? And what’s wrong with Pierce Brosnan?
Ewan MacGregor, yes, but he belongs to no one woman. I always loved Pierce and he’s still one of my favorite but http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v713/Elenia25/?action=view¤t=RalfFiennes3.jpg]this picture of Ralph Fiennes taught me to appreciate him, too.
That should be
Sorry, got all flustered it seems.
They should clone Ewan, so everyone can have one.
Jon Rhys-Meyers is pretty tasty.
Naturally. He’s Australian.
Ralph Fiennes
I understand he’s on the market again. And I could be.
Elizabeth Hurely, Keira Knightly, and Kate Winslet.
And Hell, I’m noit gay or even bisexual, but damn is CLive Owen isn’t awesome.
:snarls: Hey! I posted him first! I can kick my SO out.
Okokok, suppose we could share.
Really? I thought he was a Brit. He’s still awesome, though.
Liam Neeson-he’s from NORTHERN Ireland. That’s part of the UK, right?
What can I say, I like smart, multi-talented, beautiful women! It’s a good thing I married one.
Yes, Mama Zappa knows about this. I didn’t want to see Nanny McPhee until I heard Emma (thumpa-thumpa) Thompson was involved.
Woo-hooooo!!! Gabriel Byrne is all mine!!!
Richard E. Grant
Alan Rickman
Hugh Laurie
I’m still trying to get over my man-crush on Laurie/House.
