You know, I came in here all revved up to support you, prr, because I recently felt the need to post the truth (as I experienced it) about a public figure who was being eulogized.
But the thing is, your post had no information in it. You didn’t give any reason for your dislike, just a “zing” as it were.

I would love to hear why this guy is considered “evil” by some. The brief reading I did said he was slow to act on the AIDS crisis - along with most of the freaking world, IIRC - and didn’t ever publically acknowledge his homosexuality, if indeed he was gay. Is that it?
To be honest, I think part of the reason PRR got modded was that he didn’t give any reason for hating Koch. He basically came into the thread, took a dump, walked away and then got mad at Idle Thoughts when Idle Thoughts warned him while cleaning up the mess he’d left.
If instead of basically saying “Koch was an asshole, fuck him!” he’d said “Koch turned New York into a pisshole! Fuck him!” or “Koch bungled the handling of the AIDS crisis and killed countless numbers of gay men as a result! Fuck him!” then I suspect he either wouldn’t have gotten modded or just not as severely. I.E. instead merely a note asking him to not use such inflametory language.
