It has a very War of the Roses feel to it, with some magic. Not a lot, which I like.
I forgot they were doing a video version. Yay. I have book one sitting on my table. I’ve read the whole series as far as it’s been written. It’s been so long, I’m still waiting for the next book, whichever number we’re on now. I love the story and the characters, but geez, I can’t remember all those details for this long. I was hoping that if I started at book one now, by the time I finish the series again the new one will be out. Last I heard (read on Martin’s website) it was due sometime this year but I haven’t checked back in a while nor do I necessarily believe his eta to be accurate. I especially wanted to see what Dany (?) the dragon girl, does. And Tyrion. And John Snow.
For those who haven’t read it, it’s a great political intrigue/battle/adventure book, not warm and fuzzy at all. It’s in an imagined world similar to our own but with fantasy elements added, comparable to maybe the middle ages, pre-industrial. Castles, swords and dragons, good guys and bad guys, dynasties and traitors.
