Dmitry Medvedev releases a nice rant to appeal to populists across the spectrum. Nobody cares what happens to Ukraine and Ukraine will be allowed to disappear.
While I enjoyed the “unterukraine” riffs as an old classic, I did appreciate the new “They’s Nazis, too” tune “that even the snobby, insolent Polacks don’t take for a valid country, and time and again toss in the issue of its western areas anschluss.”
A great way to avoid all this is to leave Ukraine alone, Dmitry.
Nobody needs Dmitry. Will he disappear?
As mentioned on Twitter, he probably isn’t standing near any windows.
I expect Medvedev is Putin’s mouthpiece. He may say some outrageous things, but that’s just Putin testing the waters. I don’t think he’ll defenestrate unless he starts saying things Putin didn’t approve of beforehand.
But that’s a moving target these days. I mean, he could say he hates Mondays and Putin could be all “Monday is my favorite day! Out the window with him.” and I don’t think anybody (including Medvedev) would be all that surprised. Putin is unpredictable at this point.
Now wait a minute. Grammar critic.
Putin, or his minion, say, Boris Badenov, throws say, for matters of discussion, Rocky the Flying Squirrel, out the window. Boris defenestrates Rocky in the present tense. Rocky is defenstrated.
My spell checker is going squirrely. But I digress.
Would you believe I was using the future pluperfect subjunctive tense there?
When she starts making them into coats.
Has it occurred to her that she did not “adopt” this child, and that it was kidnapped in a war zone and shipped to a house of horrors against it’s will? That she is a monster who is holding kidnapped children hostage?
No, of course not.
Thousands were taken, 17 returned. They probably allowed a few to return for propaganda purposes: “See? We care about the children.”

Another photo has surfaced of a severed head impaled on spike, allegedly by Wagner in Bakhmut. There’s also reportedly video of Russian soldiers decapitating a live Ukrainian prisoner.
Today’s Russia is like ISIS.
Russia is going to have a digital draft, where as soon as the message is sent it is considered to be received by the individual. Just throwing everyone into the machine, then?
There’s nothing “reported” or “alleged” about this one. Do not go looking for the video. I had a heavily blurred and muted version autoplay in my Twitter feed and it was plenty disturbing even though you could barely make out what was going on. The unblurred video will be horrific beyond description.
There’s another video. Won’t link to the tweet, as it includes the video, but WarTranslated comments:
So three decapitation-related bits of news this week.

Also, the Russian who gained notoriety last year by taking to the stage in Moscow with the skull of a Ukrainian soldier got his comeuppance by getting killed in action.
