Rust (Game) Server Available

Hey everyone,

Not sure if anyone here is familiar with it or not, but I’ve recently rented a gameserver for the game “Rust” that is now online. Looking to expand the server population and would be happy to have anyone here.

Official forum - www.RustStorm.tk

Introduction:

Hello everyone and thanks for reading!

This server launched 12/30/2013.

As of right now, our admin staff will be myself and friend KesslerSyndrome. We will be playing as normal players and there will be zero admin abuse. Item creation, airdrop manipulation, any and all of the above is off the table. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for all and I believe that this is the only way to obtain that and I also believe that this is the way the game was meant to be played.

Things such as wipes will be determined based on polling on the forum and what I deem to be popular opinion from in-game chat. I definitely do not want to do it at a pace higher than required, so please feel to provide any input on our forum! As far as hacking / botting / exploits, please post on our website in the appropriate section and your inquiry will be handled when possible. Please note that I am gainfully employed, full-time, and will likely be unavailable from 6 AM to 4 PM EST, Monday through Friday. I also have somewhat of a social life, but that is standard fare. I will probably slowly recruit a few additional admins over time in order to match some timezones.

Hit F1 to bring up your console and enter the following:

net.connect 207.198.118.240:28015
Let me know if you any of you are interested or if you’d like to know more about the game. It’s not for everyone (and is a bit cutthroat / an alpha release), but it has a solid dev with a very positive direction.

We have a Mumble server if you wish to talk to others on the server that might be in there.

Thanks.

I’ve been looking at this game for like a month now, and while it really intrigues me, I’m not at all clear on what the “game” part of it is.

From the trailer it looks like it might be kind of like Minecraft, but with much better graphics and a 1st person view.

But what really is the point of the game?

It has elements of Minecraft, Left 4 Dead, DayZ, and Ultima Online all rolled into one.

I’d say Minecraft is the crafty, construction element. Left 4 Dead for survival, zombies. DayZ for FPS PVP, die-at-any-time, and Ultima Online for player housing, and generally brutal “die and lose everything, pick yourself up, move on” approach.

Housing is defensible but never full-proof.

The point of the game is pretty raw right now due to Alpha, but it’s basically collecting resources to build housing and weaponry (primitive then more advanced), raiding other players, killing people that are collecting resources, etc. You can do whatever you want, really.

It’s worth it for $20, but that’s relative I guess.
