I don’t think the SDMB should be playing psychiatrists. Supportive, yes, definitely. But I’ve had people use me as their version of therapy in the past, and it’s incredibly overwhelming.

He was called on starting the Canvas Shoes thread, and he didn’t say anything about his past suicidal thoughts in the Jessity thread, or try to back out of getting the thread closed or anything. If you feel uncomfortable with him knowing that he has trouble with depression, that’s your problem, not his.
