S.h.i.e.l.d 3.4.14 t.a.h.i.t.i

The Lorelei reveal at the end was interesting, finally bringing in some mainline Marvel characters into the mix. We still don’t know much about Tahiti, I actually like the way they deliver that in dribs and drabs.

More like, The Clairvoyant saw that that was how it would turn out, so he said “Ok, go ahead and shoot Skye. Twice.”

I think this would have made a great half-hour episode. I think that about a lot of these episodes.

Now I’m wondering if Coulson’s plea to let him die wasn’t coming entirely from him but from the creature in the tube.

Skye doesn’t get the psychic onslaught wishing for death because a.) she’s further from the tube and b.) when the facility went kaboom, Tube Man finally got his wish.

Somebody in SHIELD is going to regret picking Tahiti as the location used for Coulson’s false memories. If they had implanted the idea that Barbados is a magical place in his head, he’d have ignored a door labeled T.A.H.I.T.I.

I really like this idea.

I wnoder if there is any import to the fact that Tube Man appeared to be missimg both eyeballs.

Ooooooh…

(IOW, what Dr_Doom said!)

BTW, upon rewatching - Tube Man isn’t blue. It’s just the lighting.

The eyes are always the first to go with big blue naked aliens with their guts hanging out who are being harvested for their regenerative fluids.

Does that mean that Tube Man might be the Clairvoyant? Could he be manipulating things from the tube in order to collapse the mountain on himself and end his years of suffering?

or be able to escape ?

Probably not, because The Clairvoyant is also dicking around with Centipede. No need to do that if all you want is to die.

Haven’t we seen people talking to the Clairvoyant on the phone? I don’t think he could sneak a cell phone into that tube, and besides, they just established that they don’t get a good signal down there.

I don’t think there’s been any indication that the Clairvoyant is also telepathic. In fact, if he were, there would be no need for the EyePhone he’s using to control his minions.

May I remind you of The Monster of Frankenstein series from the late 1970s.

And Tomb of Dracula also.

He’s both spoken to and killed people through a cell phone.

I don’t think there’s a need to read more into the body in the tube than what was presented. It’s alien (or mutant) biology being used for purposes that are as yet unclear, but include healing agents. (Pun intended) A body recovered from the Battle of New York?

The Battle of New York was after Coulson got sort-of-deaded, so it’s likely they already had TubeMan before then.

As if in that world the door wouldn’t have been labeled B.A.R.B.A.D.O.S.

Excellent point - maybe he was only “mostly dead” at that point?

And out here in the real world, it would have been D.I.S.N.E.Y.L.A.N.D.

Can someone fill me in on the Asgardian who showed up at the end? Who is she, and does she have anything to do with anything else we saw in the episode or is this a new plot thread being dropped on us?
