to be fair - we’ve seen people being communicated to by cell phone by the ‘clairvoyant’ - we have not seen ‘the clairvoyant’ talking on the other end. While it seems ‘odd’ that a sufficiently telepathic being would need a cell phone - it might be easier for the audience to grok the person is being spoken to vs just ‘hearing voices’.
New plot thread, and more linkage to the MCU.
simster - He’s “The Clairvoyant,” not “The Telepath.” ![]()
Ninjaed.
Looks like the latter. She’s a minor existing character in the Marvel universe, a sort of very junior Loki whose primary talent is seducing men (including Thor).
…because two, two, two links to the same site are twice as useful. ![]()
They’re officially renaming the show to “Agents of SHIELD - Uprising”.
And the guy who drove off with Lorelei in the convertible was John Belushi’s nephew. So it was a convoluted reference to the end of Animal House!
I think I read that at least Bill Paxton is signed on for a four episode arc.
And then it’s game over, man, game over…
He really has to get that line in somewhere before he goes.
Uprising. Get it? That’s what we want the ratings to start doing. It’s not a desperate bid for attention. HEY, NOTICE US! Sorry. That’s not what we meant at all. It’s, um, a pun. On yeast. Yeah. Thousands of tiny agents fermenting and fizzing and all working in secret to make… the bread rise up. No. How about a reference to the Ukraine uprising? They’re a small plucky band battling the evil bare-chested supervillian Putinium Man. Honest. It’ll all make sense. We’re even working on a good acronym for T.A.H.I.T.I. Terrific Autochthonic Healing Integumentary Totality Initiator. OK, that’s terrible. Give us a chance. Please. Pretty please. Did we mention there was a teaser for the new Captain America movie? He’ll break some stuff and we’ll fix it. That can be a series, can’t it? What’s that, Bob, ratings hit their lowest point ever? S.H.I.T.
I still think Stan Lee will be The Clairvoyant. At least he should be.
He did already make an appearance, chastising Coulson on the train for the shameful way Phil treated his family (“All those prostitutes!” sob), when Coulson and Simmons were trying to be incognito. The Clairvoyant thumbing his nose? Misdirection? Nothing but a cameo after all? Why, WHY, must this show and countless others continually refuse to spoon-feed me answers tout suite!?

I’m glad they’re at least trying to amp things up and start to really delve into Marvel things like Deathlok and (I’m assuming) the Kree. It’s still not that great though (I honestly forgot that Skye had been shot and was on death’s door… I just don’t care enough about the characters to be on the edge of my seat eagerly awaiting next episode like I am with other shows). I was also really worried they were gonna stretch out the mystery and not show us what Coulson saw, thankfully that wasn’t the case.
After the alien reveal, the Lorelei introduction seemed very out of place and anti-climatic. Obviously they’re setting her up for next episode, but meh.
I also think it’s a Kree. However, it’s worth pointing out that Atlanteans are also blue-skinned .(Namor is half-human, and therefore flesh-colored)
Is Namor an official part of the Fantastic Four universe? If he is, then they wouldn’t be able to use him as Fox owns the rights to the FF universe. That’s why they had to call the Skrull the Chtauri in the Avengers.
He’s just not that good of an actor plus his mere presence is enough to pull people out of the story and go “Oh look, it’s Stan Lee.” In theory it seems like a good idea and a nice nod, but ultimately I don’t think it is.
It’s hard to say. Namor predates the creation of the FF and has had his own series. Then again, I’m surprised to learn this about the Skrulls… they were as much part of the X-Men or the Avengers as they were part of the FF-verse.
Either Larry Trask (Son of the scientist behind the creation of the Sentinels, mutant with precognitive powers) or, to pick a character more closely related to the Avengers, the Grim Reaper, a terribly lame villain who lately has had some magical upgrades including seeing the future.
It’s not so much the universe as it is the conditions listed in the initial contracts. Fox had Skrulls listed in the paperwork, so they get them until Marvel buys the rights back.
That makes sense.
Bolivar Trask is in the upcoming X-Men movie, and mutants are verboten by the contracts, so that is unlikely.
Fair enough. They’ll probably just get Baron Strucker and tackle random mind powers on him.
Or… or, wait. Wait. It’s gonna be Zemo. He can’t see the future… it just looks like he does because he’s from the future!
