Sad Story

I almost was ill after reading a story in The Washington Post at lunchtime.

A Nevada woman accidentally bumped into a black SUV in slow California rush-hour traffic. The SUV driver came back to her car, and she rolled down her window. As she did, her little dog, Leo, jumped on her lap to greet the stranger. The other driver began cursing at her, then reached into her car, pulled Leo out, and tossed him into oncoming traffic, where he was hit. The woman raced to aid Leo, so she didn’t get much of a description of the bastard that tossed him other than his car had Virginia plates.

Leo died on the way to a vet.

There is a $40,000 reward leading to the capture of the SUV driver.

(Information Page about the case)

WHEW!!

At least they didn’t get my plates!

Sweet Basil

Didn’t get voted for a damn thing!
(thanks guys…)

I read about that. There are some pretty sick people in this world. I also heard that a local radio station had received donations for the reward, unsolicited. There are good, caring people in this world too.

We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another

I say, a stiff fine for offing the pooch, and the gas chamber for driving an SUV.

Gas chamber?
Even in the end those SUV drivers are wasting gas.

pat

Wow! What a story! Betcha we hear from that driver again, that’s not the kind of guy who does something like that once. He’s most likely had some road rage encounters before. Hope he brags about it to someone who then calls the police. What a creep!

Would anyone like to comment on the fact that there were more donations and involvement in this case than in the last several missing child cases in the same area? I love dogs, but there’s something wrong here…

Ditto. It’s a despicable act, but come on. CNN reported that the San Jose police said that this reward is larger then any they have ever had for rape or child abuse.
