Aw! We lost the tabby of our three fur babies in January. Mr Chet was a very friendly, even pushy cat and he was the boss, even if he was the “middle child”. We have two other tuxedo cats, all 3 have polydactyl paws. It was very hard to say goodbye, he was better and okay on most days but not really improving from a questionable toe injury. We never figured out how he lost a toe joint and it never healed.
I really wanted to get another cat pretty soon after Chet’s final vet visit, but our other two cats are really enjoying what he has left behind and that is okay. Our first(Dolly) was a rescue, and the next two(Chet and Del)we took in from the neighborhood. Del spent a few years on his own outside. I figure the “cat lottery” will favor us again in time.
