Samantha Bee in Letterman Segment

I swear that, every once in a while, I see Samantha Bee (from the Daily Show) in the audience during the “Great Moments in Presidential Speeches” segments. Tonight I played last night’s Letterman for my husband and, I swear, there she was. She started out over Bush’s right shoulder, then he walked the other way and you could see her over his left (or something like that.) I said, “see, see…it’s her!” I even replayed it a couple of times and I could not convince him. Has anyone else seen this? Better yet, can you prove it? I would bet money on this!

I see the resemblance, but in context I think she’s just a woman in the audience who happens to look a lot like Sam Bee. Funny thing is, GMiPS used to feature an Asian woman, composited into the video, performing weird tasks like brushing dandruff of JFK’s shoulder. But this woman looks to be legitimately part of the crowd.

Here’s a photograph of the speech with a similar shot of the audience. You can see the woman sitting to the right of a black man in the second row. Unless Samantha Bee decided to go to Nashville for some reason to hear President Bush speak about balancing the budget, I doubt it’s her.

Yeah, I remember when they used to do that. Her name is Sue and she used to come onto the set quite frequently to offer Dave some food/beverage/advice/whatever and then would leave in a huff. I can’t remember what part of the staff she is, thought and haven’t seen her for awhile.

Shroud, I swear to God, in that picture, I’m still convinced it’s her (the whole furrowed brow thing); however, in Mobo’s picture, it doesn’t look like her at all.

I mean, I can actually imagine her being down there to get some ammo/interviews/what have you for the Daily Show.

Thanks, guys!
