Same old company, brand new job

Anyone who follows my posts around here knows that I bitch about my job. A lot. Well, that’s about to change.

This morning I accepted an editorial position with another department in my company. This new job involves the same amount of work I did in my previous position (or it will, once I get the hang of it), but with a few important advantages:

[li]I’ll be completely free of Evil Boss-- Good Boss will be my only direct supervisor.[/li][li]I won’t have to cold call subscribers for feedback.[/li][li]I’ll have a byline on some of my work.[/li][li]I’m getting a pretty nice raise. :smiley: [/li][/ul]

I’ve already done the job on a trial basis for the last couple of weeks, and I’m looking forward to doing it full time. Just one week to go!

Congrats, will you location be changing? Perhaps fourth cubicle on the right?

I’m hoping for “in the corner office,” but I think that’s a few years down the road yet. :smiley:

No word on when (or even if) I’ll be moving, but Good Boss is preparing to relocate to a new office downstairs. I think I’ll be joining her soon.

Congrats! I just got similar news, pretty much the same actually - raise, byline, no more evil boss…

I think this is the week for Doper promotions. Or maybe the two of us are just damn lucky.

I have an interview tomorrow for a company I’d really like to work for… hopefully, this is a good “job-related” week for dopers!
