Same problems in Australia

Like the US, we are faced with so many political problems that most people have thrown their hands up in the air and decided to ignore everything.

But we can’t afford to do that. Islam has declared war on us. Our governments have become the enemy, trying to limit or destroy our freedoms (in hand with the muslims), take away our guns (they did it in Australia…and now we are very sorry they did), and passing ever more restrictive laws.

We need a whole new system, and that’s what RestoreAustralia is working towards. We want to bring in a whole new Constitution, one written by Aussies for Australia. The one we have now was written to unite 6 British colonies into 1 British colony and it’s not working any more! You can read about our work here:
http://www.restoreaustralia.org.au/

Instead of being dictated to by political parties, we think it’s time We the People have the power to decide the kind of government WE want.

So, my questions to you are:
[ol]
[li]Are you facing the same problems we are?[/li][li]If so, what are Americans doing about it?[/li][li]Do you think Obama is a muslim “plant”?[/li][/ol]

Are you facing the same problems we are?
Yes, we have a psychotic right wing trying to destroy the civil liberties of minorities, too.

If so, what are Americans doing about it?
We’re voting for the handful of sane, tolerant, and decent people who want the job and have a prayer of winning.

Do you think Obama is a muslim “plant”?
No, I think he’s a wishy-washy, moderately conservative Christian, who occasionally gets the urge to do the right thing.

In the words of Sherlock, “you repel me.”

Why do you types always use words like “restore”? Is it to appeal to mindless sentimentality that it was somehow more pure, and better in the past?

It wasn’t. It was shittier. It’s better now. It’s not perfect, but that’s more related to the human condition rather than to any political system.

I’m not against change. But I don’t see how a new constitution would change things for the better. Nor more guns. What guns do you need that you can’t get now?

I wouldn’t worry so much about Islam declaring war on you. Islam isn’t a country, and doesn’t have any military, so you’ve already won.

Try looking in a dictionary to understand the other meanings of ‘restore’.

And why don’t you try reading our Draft Constitution before you comment on whether we need a new one or not?

I’m sure your ignorance will make a fine weapon when the muslims cut you throat for not being muslim. Try doing some research. You would be amazed what you could learn.

You’re evil, ugly people and your vision for Australia sickens me. I don’t think those words can be said to you too often or too loudly.

(Bolding mine.)

We are? I’m not.

  1. to bring back into existence, use, or the like.

  2. to bring back to a former, original, or normal condition.

  3. to bring back to a state of health, soundness, or vigor.

  4. to put back to a former place, or to a former position, rank, etc.: to restore the king to his throne.

  5. to give back; make return or restitution of (anything taken away or lost).

Oh, you want to give it back to the aborigines? Cool!

I’ve learned some amazing things, including but not limited to what the possessive form of “you” is, and what types of words should be capitalized.

The problem for stupid people is that they are too stupid to know they are stupid. Sorry about your problem. But only you can fix it.

The irony. It burns.

Yeah, Eliahna, geeze, quit sleeping on the job and fix those poor stupid restore australia people.

I’m guessing he’s going with this meaning of restore:

Of course, most of us think restoring National Socialism would be a bad idea.

There’s some real xenophobic messages on that website. The profits from Halal food fund terrorism? Who knew?

Quite. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know anything about Restore Australia, but there is a similarly named party in Japan - Restore Japan (restore to what?; it ominously refuses to say). And they are just a bunch of right wing old farts who view the past through rose colored glasses. And unless you had a really shitty childhood, the past was pretty good! Because you were young! And you had good times. It is actually difficult sometimes to be objective about the past, and how things have improved.

“But we cannot return to the splendor of that afternoon in the grass”

And for some people its hard not to look around for reasons why life sucks more as you get older, and to point the finger at all the changes that have happened. More foreigners for a start, right. Surely they all want to cut our throats, like I want to cut theirs, right? And why do I have to stand behind them in queue. They don’t even belong here! We stole this country first!

And when the high school history books that we all read deal with the history of our own countries they focus on the past glories or the great adventures. It can make the “olden days” seem pretty romantic. What the texts don’t dwell on are things like sub-par plumbing, so that you could pretty much smell shit all night and day wherever you go in the city, or malnutrition being commonplace, horrific violence, early deaths etc.

What exactly do these people want to return to?

That’s the problem isn’t it? You don’t think. But if you open your eyes and start doing some research you will see why I, and so many other Aussies, are worried about losing our civilization and rights to the islamist crazies who are trying to impose sharia law on all of us. Perhaps you are not aware of it, but they have already written an islamic Constitution for Australia. We managed to download a copy of it before they realized what a monumental mistake they had made and deleted it from the Hisb ut-Tahrir website:
http://www.restoreaustralia.org.au/an-islamic-constitution-for-australia/

If you don’t know anything about is why bother replying? Displaying your ignorance is hardly conducive to intelligent discussion, is it?

I’m sure the Aborigines will be only too delighted when you fuck off.
