So who is going to preview night tonight? The wife, her brother and I got the 4 day passes and will be heading down tonight for some preview action. Four nights of watching subtitled anime and eating in the gas lamp you can’t beat that with a stick.
I’m planning to be there tonight, but haven’t made up my mind when to get there.
A Preview Night highlight: Shortly after the doors to the Exhibit Hall opened, a woman came on the PA system and said, (sounding very indignant): “One of the rules of the Convention Center is no running. Yes, I mean you in the green and white baseball cap!” (Probably not a precise quote.) 
Well, I hope you stopped running. 
How’s it looking down there? I should be getting my shiny new car today (:D) so a drive down to San Diego sounds rather serendipitous…
Looks like there’s a military discount, so I’m probably going to hit up the ol’ Con this weekend. Any suggestions as to which day? Any Dopers want to team up?
One word: crowds! From my memories of attending the past two years only on the Saturday, my impression of the numbers from today is that the numbers of people present were only somewhat lower. What I need to do is avoid the exhibit hall the rest of the Con - that’s where the crowds really get dense and (for me) uncomfortable.
I need to sit down this evening and try to do some good planning for the next two days. There will be major events happenings at night both days, so I’m thinking I’ll likely get there around mid-afternoon.
I can’t seem to find a cite, but I am recalling reading somewhere that Sunday has (relatively) the lightest attendance each year.
Right now I have no clue when I may get there on Sunday, due to other things I’ll have happening that morning.
That makes sense, as it’s also the cheapest. I’ll have to look at the programs and at my favorite webcomics’ pages to make sure I can see what I want to see that day.
What’s the logo on this year’s T-shirt?
I haven’t noticed.
Oh, well. We’ll get there about noon tomorrow, just in time to get settled before the Battlestar Galactica panel.

I went today and had a really good time, especially since I had a great lunch and a martini at Palms first. I was amazed at how packed the exhibit hall was. I can’t imagine what it will be like Saturday. Lots of nice, strange people. I love ComicCon!
Azumi is a very violent movie and the DVD or player showing it had problems. So did you guys see me? I was the one in shorts and a Tommy Bahamma bowling shirt.
Come to think of it, we should get a whole bunch of Dopers together for lunch in Old Town (or maybe breakfast at the Original Pancake House on Convoy–I know, a little far) for Saturday or something and attack Comic-Con as a group.
