Sandwhich Spreadables...

Only if it has Vegemite!

PB and Nutella sammies just sounds like PB samminella in my mind, which is not a happy thought with the current recall.

Anyways, strawberry here.

You can’t preserve a dick in her mouth.

…and the thread comes back around full circle.

Lowes Foods has the Reeses in my area. It’s still around.

I like grape jelly on my PB&Js. I don’t see what’s insipid about it. I don’t care if people think it’s little kid food. Sometimes that’s what I want…little kid food. I’m having Fluffernutter for lunch today and I’m pretty damned excited about it. I brought Kool-Aid too.

I hate grape jam.

Grape jam is better than grape jelly it just spreads better… much better.

as for the after sex food. It’s all about the oreos.

Also a good sandwich for grape jam.

Slice of Wheat Bread
Grape Jam
Cream Cheese
Slice of Wheat Bread

DELICIOUS.

AND, the “intense” part; debatable. Are there foods specifically reserved for consumption after lackluster sex?

My grandparents had a Concord grape arbor at their house, which my parents turned into grape jelly. Every fucking year, we had gallons and gallons and gallons of grape jelly to get through. Now that I do the food shopping, there will never be a jar of grape jelly brought into Chez Doors. Ever. It’s like canned green beans; the hellish food of childhood.

My preferences are for toast spreads like nice, chunky preserves. And I’ve got a tub of fluff, so I’ve been diggin’ on fluffernutter sammiches.

Banana and chocolate syrup also work. Mmm… banana and chocolate syrup.

Dry toast.

Thanks for the info, Mangetout! Very interesting. (Well, as interesting as that kind of topic can get, anyway.)

We had a similar situation - but it wasn’t an issue for us. Homemade jelly from my grandma was tons better than the stuff from stores.

It had little grains of crystalized fruit sugar that would snap between your teeth. Also, I think my grandma added a tiny bit of vinegar to the mix - rounding out the tartness.

This went well with peanut butter - I lived on these sandwiches for years.

No love for peanut butter and honey sandwiches? Yum!

I think no one has yet gotten to the nut of the matter, as it were, which is that PB&J is popular because it is easy and cheap food that kids will eat, and grape jelly is cheaper and more kid-friendly (purple, bland and seedless) than other fruity spreads . As adults we may move on to whatever flavors and textures stroke our more refined palates, but why waste the good stuff on Junior only to have him complain about it?

Personally I find boysenberry preserves go down great after doggy-style, honey is best for three-ways and Fluffernutter after anything involving a trapeze.

Being a brit I have always been a little bemused by the whole American peanut butter and jelly thing.
don’t get me wrong I was brought up on peanut butter sandwiches and a good raspberry jam is another good thing, its just the whole thing about having them together that seems wrong to me.
However someone unthread mentioned chilli relish.
We have over here Branstons sweet chilli and ginger relish a bottle of which just happens to reside in the pantry along with a jar of peanut butter, well I just had to try if only once,

Well my oh my

Looks like I’m off to the shops to stock up on both tomorrow

I would say crackers and water… that way you don’t have too much in you and you can get ready to give it another shot…

After sex oreos… that sounds fantastic!

I’ll never be able to eat jam again, but it’s worth it because this quote is awesome!

Variety is the spice of life, as it were. The homemade stuff was better than the store-bough kind, but since we had all that homemade stuff, there was never any reason to get any other kind. I just got royally sick of it.

I’ll still eat it if I have to, but not if there are alternatives available.

Robin

Well, seeing as how I’m at work, so there’s zero chance of intense sex, I’ll just say that I will eat my peanut butter sandwiches with any of the following:

grape jelly/jam
apple jelly
strawberry jam
apple butter
marshmallow fluff
bananas
pepper jelly
honey
pretty much any other fruit jam/jelly/preserves/spread except maybe guava

So I just got done banging my sister and thought, you know, that’s pretty sick, and immediately thought about peanut butter and liverwurst.

My kid though, may be only six, but loves peanut butter with raspberry-jalapeno jelly. Kid’s gonna be a fire eater someday.

AHAHA… Aside from how blatently wrong the first part of this is…
…the second part illustrates a good point, as much as we associate grape jelly with younger versions of ourselves, or reflect the use upon children… even children can have more adult ideas of what tastes good… and even adults can want to snack “like children”… Regardless, there seems to be no age restrictions for food preferences.
